Clever Offline Marketing Strategies to Promote your Business

In modern business, there is undoubtedly a propensity to focus on digital marketing strategies. From social media to SEO, these tactics can be incredibly powerful in building your business. However, don’t let the power of online marketing make you forget offline marketing.

Offline marketing still has its place even in our modern, online world, and it can be incredibly effective in reaching new customers and growing your profits. Here are some clever marketing strategies that you should put to work for your business today.

1. Business Cards

Business cards may seem like an old-fashioned strategy; however, they can still be highly effective today. To take full advantage of this strategy, however, you need to acquire wholesale business cards and distribute your cards widely. This doesn’t mean just handing them out to your business contacts at meetings.

Rather, you should drop your cards everywhere you go. Attach them to every public bulletin board you can find, leave a card with your tip when you eat out, and always drop a card into a contest bowl. You can even slip your business card between the pages of a book relevant to your industry in your local library. To make sure you get the maximum uptake from your cards, be sure not only to include your website address and contact details but also a QR code that takes them straight to your site.

2. Networking

Networking is a traditional form of marketing that is no less valuable today. In-person networking allows you to bond with your potential customers and build strong relationships. These relationships are critical to trust, which will translate into long-term customer loyalty.

This is a perfect example of how offline and online marketing strategies can work together for maximum effect. Offline networking can be very effective in driving traffic to your website. Once potential customers reach your site, your online marketing tactics will take over, telling them more about your products and convincing them to make a purchase.

3. Unique Packaging

If you sell a physical product, don’t overlook the marketing potential of the packaging it comes in. Your packaging is the ideal canvas for your branding, and a great way to promote your business. You can also increase the chance of point or sale pickup through eye-catching and engaging packaging.

Brand your packaging to maximum effect by including not only your logo and tagline but also contact details for your business. Doing so with reusable packaging that customers can continue to use not only gives your clients extra value but also means that they will continue to see your branding every time they use it.

4. Stickers

Stickers are a fun and inexpensive way to reach new audiences. It is easy to have new stickers made up with your brand logo or more creative designs that will promote your business. By distributing them to your customers and supporters, they become a self-promoting marketing tool. By creating a beautiful or interesting sticker, you’ll encourage people to put them on their personal items such as a water bottle, bag, or laptop.

From there, your sticker and your brand will reach countless new people, as everywhere your fans go, others will see the sticker. This helps to build brand awareness and reinforce your branding. The more interesting the stickers, the better: eye-catching holographic stickers are great for standing out from the noise and capturing attention.

5. Branded Merchandise

Branded merchandise is another effective marketing tactic that works in much the same way as stickers do. By giving people great-looking and useful merchandise with your branding on it, you are essentially turning them into brand ambassadors. As they use your merchandise and take it with them as they go about their daily lives, your brand will get exposure to whole new market segments you may not reach otherwise.

There are plenty of examples of merchandising that works well in this way: bookmarks, pens, pencils, mousepads, phone cases, and mugs, to name just a few. You can give these pieces away for free, or, as you build your brand and gain a loyal following, you will be able to sell the merchandise for a small profit. Your customers will be happy to do so to show their support, especially if the merchandise is good.

6. Freebies

Another great offline strategy is to offer free gifts to your customers and potential companies. Free giveaways can take many forms, but just about every tactic is highly effective. After all, who doesn’t love to get something for free? Free offers create positive associations with your brand, build trust, and help you to gain exposure. Free giveaways don’t have to be tangible gifts or merchandise, although this is one option.

Other approaches include giving away gift certificates or discounts on your products or services. These giveaways could be given directly to your customers, as part of customer referrals to their friends or family, or could be a gift to the wider community. One particularly effective way to do this is to give away products or gift certificates to community events, local charities, and fundraisers. This is a great way to promote your business while showing that you care about the community.
