5 Amazing Apps To Help You Jump On The Meditation Bandwagon

Since when did people in the west start to meditate on a daily basis? It’s actually been quite popular for some time and it’s even breaking into the mainstream. It has only took us thousands of years to figure out it’s a great way to stay healthy. There are even amazing apps you can download to your phone and they take away the hassle of learning on your own. Let’s look at some of the best ones you’ll need to check out before getting started.

The Mindfulness App

This amazing app will teach you the basics of meditation, but it’s also like a little assistant you carry around in your pocket. You can set reminders and the app will tell you when to meditate at any point during the day, which is a great tool for someone who often forgets. It even hooks up to your GPS so you will be told to meditate when you’re in certain locations. It’s been voted the best health app in nearly a dozen countries around the world, so you won’t be left disappointed.

Headspace (on-the-go)

When you first get started with Headspace you will get a free 10-day starter program that will teach you the basics of meditation. You will definitely start to feel the difference in this short space of time. If you want to continue with your studies the app will start to cost you a little money each month, but you’ll be guided through a new meditation every single day so it’s a good deal. Even though it’s one of the more expensive meditation apps around at least you can test it out first without paying anything.

Mindfulness Meditation

You sometimes have to be careful when you download apps because it’s so easy for anyone to create. How do you know you’re getting taught by a professional? This app is legitimate because it’s brought to you by the same person who wrote Meditation For Dummies. Stephan Bodain is a renowned teacher and his app has a great 8-week program that will teach you loads about meditation. There are also lots of inspirational talks inside the app in case you like that kind of thing.

Breathe2Relax

The most important thing you can learn to do when meditating is to breathe properly because without being able to control your breath you’ll never be able to control your mind. Once you learn to breathe properly it’s a great way to beat stress on its own without the meditation, but obviously being inside a meditative trance has much more of an impact on your health. I’m sure you already know how to breathe because you’ve been doing in your entire life, but use this app if you want to learn how to do it properly.

Simply Being

You won’t find a meditation app easier to use than Simply Being because you just need to decide how long you want to meditate for then away you go. The lengths of time range from 5-20 minutes so you’ll always find time to fit a quick session into your day. You can add in lots of soothing sounds to send you into a relaxed state even quicker. If you want to complicate things a little there is also lots of information you can read to learn more about the art you’re practicing.

You just need to meditate

It doesn’t even matter how you choose to learn, but just start meditating today because it will change your life. It might take you a while until you feel the full effects of being inside a deep meditative trance, but when it happens it will feel like nothing else in the world.

It is nice that a number of useful meditation apps have come in the market. As more and more people have started using smartphones (all thanks to a huge fall in their prices the world over), the meditation has again become personal. Gone are the days when we need a retreat or a group session to meditate. Now it is available 24 hours to us. Thanks for writing about these useful posts.
