Apple has confirmed the launch dates and prices for the iPad tablet computer in nine other countries. The device will now go on sale in Autralia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom on 28 May 2010. The cheapest model in the UK will cost about £70 – £80 (including tax) more than an equivalent model in the United States, at £429 while the most expensive, 64 GB model, will cost £699.

Interested users in the nine countries above can pre-order the device from Monday, 10 May. However, fans in Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore will have to wait until July for official imports to start.
I am looking forward for iPad to hit UK market. I will like to see people around me using first before I buy my owner, I wan to know which is he best and that will suite my purpose.

From the day Steve Jobs introduced the iPad in a keynote address, I knew this device is going to be a hit. If you are going to compare its price from a notebook, for example, you might think twice about getting it. However, the way this was sold by good old Steve, I don’t think price is going to matter. He’s so good people are going to buy their products no matter how expensive they are.
It’s funny to read back posts about the ipad.
The prices started so high.
Apple probably planned exactly at what price to start then when to go down a bit and then launch the Ipad 2 at “this” exact date for this price.
Leaving the camera out of the ipad so they can add it in the Ipad 2, giving it “more value”.
But did they see all this competition coming?
It looks like Samsungs popularity took them by surprise. Was it arrogance or ignorance?
