Do You Trust Cell Phone Reviews?

With the vast majority of people using reviews when they come to find entertainment, holidays and travel arrangements, new technology and food items, as well as mobile phones and many forums where these reviews can be found, it’s not exactly surprising that so many people are concerned about the reliability of the reviews that they find and who they can trust.

Looking at a mobile phone review can be confusing though and with so many reviews and reviewers seemingly vying for your attention, it can be difficult to know who to trust. With this in mind, below is a list intended to give you a starting point of things to consider when reading or searching for mobile phone reviews

1. How knowledgeable is the person doing the review?

Whilst it’s not being suggested that only an expert or professional critic should ever do a review, it’s also worth considering that a person who doesn’t understand and can’t access all of the features of a phone can’t give it a thorough review and it may be the case that you can’t trust their review because it is limited. You can easily get a feel for their expertise quite quickly though and if they seem uneducated or faltering then it’s best to take what they say with a pinch of salt.

2. How lengthy were their tests?

It’s always worth assessing how thorough their tests were before deciding whether to accept their opinion or not. Although picking a phone up, making a call and having a good experience might be enough to make some people give a five star review, it is hardly a thorough analysis and if you intend to use your phone for more than one call then you may want a review which delves deeper.

3. What did they do during the test?

Similar to the previous point, look at what they did as part of their tests and assess whether that gives you enough information to make a judgement for what you want the phone to be capable of doing.

4. Are they impartial or driven towards a particular product?

Although they might give you enough product information, a biased review could sell you something that doesn’t have the capacity or capabilities that are suitable for you. As a result, you may end up being sold a product that isn’t good enough by trusting a review that isn’t impartial.

5. Are they reviewing on your standards?

You may have the highest standards in the world when it comes to your phone, or you may not. Either is fine, but ensure that if you’re trusting a review, you’re trusting someone with the same standards as you have – otherwise you could end up being very disappointed.

6. Are they using the phone for the same reasons as you?

Finally, ensure that the reviewer has the same use of their phone as you do. After all, they may give it a glowing review for calling and texting but if you want a phone that excels at internet access then theirs may not be the phone for you.

  1. please make a phone review, I trust you, hihi, just kidding, 🙂
we need to read more review if we can not trust the review by someone,
at least we get some idea

  2. Certainly not, I don’t trust reviews on cellphones or anything that other people want to criticize. For one, I noticed that real critiques tell you both sides of the story and still leave you the decision while people who got really pissed or just to post something will tell you either ‘go ahead’ or ‘don’t buy.’ I still trust my own judgment knowing that one thing may work for others and not me or vice versa.

Thanks for the great insight. Hope to see more post from you.
