The Best Niche Streaming Services

The internet has given us access to more content than we could ever have imagined just a few years ago. On YouTube alone, more than 500 hours of video are added to its servers every minute, making it impossible to watch all of the content it stores.

This would mean it would take you more than 82 years to watch everything YouTube users upload every single day.

It’s not just YouTube either. According to The Times, there are 32,600 hours of films and TV shows on Netflix, enough for you to watch non-stop for four years.

With so much content available, it can be hard to know where to start. Of course, there are the most popular streaming platforms which offer a broad range of content that is designed to appeal to as many as possible.

If you’re looking for something a little more specialized, then there are many niche streaming services that may be of interest to you. Here are some of the best.

If you love shows like Doctor Who and Downton Abbey, then BritBox is the streaming service for you. Formed as part of a joint venture between Britain’s public broadcaster, the BBC, and leading commercial TV company, ITV, BritBox contains 3,000 different titles to choose from.

It includes classic British sitcoms like Only Fools and Horses, Fawlty Towers and Mrs. Brown’s Boys. You’ll also find many quintessentially British dramas like Pride & Prejudice, A Touch of Frost, and Silent Witness.

BroadwayHD is available on almost any device, including iOS devices, AppleTV, Android, Amazon Fire, Roku and through its desktop website.

From Broadway Classics to Shakespeare, there’s a huge variety of shows to choose from. And if you ever get a little tired of musicals and theater shows, there’s a selection of Broadway related documentaries to help you learn more about what goes on behind the scenes.

New customers can even take advantage of a 7-day free trial to see if they like the content.
