This article is inspired by a recent increase in the number of emails TechSling has been receiving from individuals and organisations interested in publishing press release statements on our technology blog. Basically, a press release statement is a unique way to make important announcements public or get a message out to a particular audience. While traditionally, a good number of commercial and non-commercial press release distribution services are known to distribute press release messages to magazines, newspapers, and television stations, many are now utilising blogs for similar purposes. Perhaps, this is because many blogs seem to be focused on specific subjects and followed by individuals who are interested in those particular issues. Thus, providing an avenue to reach out to a target audience. For example, a literature Weblog that receives 10,000 visitors a day could provide an important exposure to a press release statement relating to culture and literature.
Apart from providing a special opportunity to get messages out to targeted members of the public, publishing press releases could also be beneficial to the blog owners. By providing specific guidelines to clients, press releases could become a useful source of unique content which are very attractive to search engine crawlers such as Googlebot. Thus, while there may be no financial incentive for accepting and providing free publicity for products or events, the temptation of free related content could be one that is too strong to refuse. As a result, TechSling will now be accepting technology-related press releases free of charge. Whilst, publishing submitted articles is subject to approval, the basic criteria is simple and straightforward: interesting news on products, services and accomplishments that are related to this blog niche i.e. technology.
To submit a press release, go to our contact page or use the Submit A Story form.

Sending online press releases is an old-school method adopted for new generation technology. This is a boom for both the publisher and the product or service desiring publicity. For one, an idea spreads—and for free! Second, it generates exposure—in Google! Lastly, new websites or companies get a headstart once a buzz has been created. Though revenue is not generated from this practice, it stirs the market to pay attention and consider.

This is an excellent idea! I wish more sites were doing this. The net has gotten so big that it’s almost impossible to get your voice heard.
