Before you choose, you need to know briefly about these devices. The netbooks came into the market some one year back. These are miniature laptops with optimized functionality. These netbooks come with an additional keyboard. These were built for the corporate segment of the society who required a precise device for handling all there office works. The entertainment quotient wasn’t the main consideration behind the creation of the netbooks. The laptops are actually the big brothers of the netbooks. Laptops have better and faster processing unit, better hardware, better software support, and better video streaming features. The tablet is the king of electronic market today. These are sleek devices with no keyboard. They were built especially for connectivity, net surfing, and for other entertainment features. They have better audio visual capabilities compared to the netbooks. They have few features common to mobiles too.
The miniature laptops i.e. the netbooks usually have a 10.1 inch screen. This device has decent hardware features, but of course not comparable with that of laptops! They can run basic software. The office applications like the Microsoft Office run properly, with full functionality on these devices. They have average video streaming capabilities. The connectivity features like WI-FI, Bluetooth etc. are now embedded in these devices. The best utility of these netbooks is that it can run for a really long time. The price ranges from 200-400 American dollars. The price depends on the hardware features of the netbooks.
They don’t have any keyboard. The keyboard is also onscreen touch keyboard. These tablets are excellent communication tools. Surfing net is really fun while you are using a tablet. The videos run smoother. You can even run videos online. The gaming features make these tablets even more entertaining. They are built in the platform of mobile operating systems like Android. The price range goes up to 250 American dollars.
While comparing mobile phones with free tablets, the first points that comes in mind is the connectivity factor. This is far more improved in case of tablets, as they are basically highly improved senior generation of the smart phones. Naturally you get mobile phone like facilities in the tablets. Even higher end tablets come with 3G versions. This is not at all applicable to the netbooks. The tablets can now run HD videos. The basic plus point of netbooks is its capability to run office software applications smoothly like laptops. In tablets you can have office apps but they don’t have this much of functionality. The word documents preparation and manipulation, Excel sheet presentation, Power point slide presentation etc. can be done using netbooks but not tablets.
So, if you need your office works to be managed and can sacrifice a bit of entertainment issues then netbooks are just perfect for you. On the other hand if social networkings, connecting with people, music, vedio etc. are your prime need then tablet should be your choice.

When you are seeking portability, a light laptop makes more sense than a tablet. Seek a unit with SSD hard drive. All come with Win 7 64Bit A 128gb SSD is plenty for your purpose. One “C” partition is the stratagem using wireless and cloud storage.

I think the two devices are for two different groups of people. The netbooks being for those who need to be reviewing and creating spreadsheets or other office related documents throughout the day and the tablets are really the future, for those whose business life is entirely online.

Actually, some tablets have optional keyboards. My friend recently purchased an Asus tablet along with a dock unit. The tablet really provides netbook functionality with a keyboard.

As much as tablets can try to substitute for laptops they cant perform in the full capacities of laptops. Laptops are my preferred choice any time any day….though i can still use tablets but not as effective and productive as with a laptop.

It is difficult to choose. However I would vote for tablets. Tablets are far more popular than netbooks.

If you’ll choose between a netbook and a tablet, don’t forget to consider if it’s a toughbook or not. Toughbooks are a lot more convenient.
