Creating Your Own Mobile Phone App

There are so many uncovered concepts in the “jungle” of the Internet. Jay Shapiro, David Hoare and Dane Johnson offer one discovery: Infinite Monkeys. They claim their idea came from an entanglement in the jungles of Borneo, though this writer cannot be sure, they have come up with something you may want to hear about. The have a program that allows a computer user to make his or her own phone app. Anything a user desires can be dragged-and-dropped into place, the result is a new phone app of one’s own.

Along the way, the creators of Infinite Monkeys have created a website full of explanatory video, including video that comes with the program that is available in seven languages. This is especially helpful, given that there are many things to program into your app.

Towards the end of the app creation process, after the user has created whatever links he or she chooses, plus a phone link, a link to a menu (they used a restaurant as an example), then the app in creation needs a description. For example, “Boston restaurant famous for their elegant brunch, often with indoor jazz.” Then the user would pick tags for the restaurant, such as “expensive,” “brunch,” “jazz,” and the location, say, “Boston, Back Bay.” The user would write a Welcome Message for users to read the first time the app is used, and any additional information about the app. Of course the restaurant example is one example of thousands, perhaps millions of apps one could create.

Then the user picks which stores he or she wants to off the app in. If the app is not accepted into the store he or she chooses, the company with work with the user to make it acceptable. Then it goes live, and is available within an hour for some phone platforms and up to a week for others. The user could put phone numbers into an app, a band could sell mp3s , bloggers and authors could keep their fans updated though an app, fans of many types could have a private social network though an app, one could make maps and directions, calendars, and contact lists, just to name a few.

The program is free if the user chooses to use ads that the program uses. A highly popular search engine runs these ads. If one does not choose to use the ads, there is a fee for the program, or one can choose to use his or her own ads and keep the ad revenue, but they must pay the same fee.

The founders of Infinite Monkeys are passionate about several things: software, cells, monkeys, and giving back. Users of their program can save on their fees if they belong to a U.S. 501(c)3 charity. The company has plans to offer the same discount to international NGO’s and charities. Working for a charity, a user can utilize this program and create apps to update donors on current activities, coordinate volunteer, guide and receive feedback from people working on site, and receive donations though the app.

Ten percent of Infinite Monkeys’ profits are given to an Orangutan charity in Borneo.
