Who’s Happy With Their Tablets?

Tablet PCs have become a common fixture in classrooms, workplaces and even at home. The recent price drops and availability of more affordable albeit smaller sized tablet PCs have contributed to the acceptance of this gadget by the consumers. There are a lot of places that sell brand new tablet PCs and accessories like the iPad charging station that you can purchase depending on your budget and preference on features.

Because there are a lot of brands and models already available in the market, consumers, especially those who are not so familiar with them, would be confused with the vast choices they are presented with. A lot of these people depend on surveys and online gadget reviews when making the decision on which product to go for. JD Power and Associates is one of the more trusted companies you can depend on when it comes to surveys. So, if you are wondering which device is best to invest your money in, you can look for any press release of companies like JD Power and Associates to be best informed.

Happy with your Tablet PC

Their most recent JS Power survey involves the tablet PC and the personal computer. A lot of speculations have come out whether or not the tablet PC would end the reign of the personal computer when it comes to personal computing. The survey result shows that there are more people spending time on their tablet PCs but it is still less compared to those that use personal computers by only a small margin.

This goes to show that the tablet PC is a challenger already especially when it comes to surfing the net, watching videos, playing games and listening to music. Seems like a lot of people want to get upgrades with everything, including their accessories like an iPad charging station, and not revert to PC use. This only means that multimedia content will continue to evolve given the changing lifestyle of the people. Also, the company concludes that this pattern will continue to grow which would make the margin of satisfaction very thin between the tablet PC and the personal computer.

The survey also showed that Apple is still the preferred brand for tablet PCs even if it belongs to the higher priced models. But then, Amazon Kindle is only 6 points behind the iPad in the tablet customer satisfaction survey. Both companies were the only ones on top of the industry average with others like Samsung, Acer, Barnes & Noble, and HP falling below average.

But that doesn’t mean all these other devices don’€™t get any love from their owners. While they spend 7.5 hours weekly with their tablets, still lower compared to the 9.6 hours of PC use on activities like surfing the web, watching videos, listening to music, and reading books, a majority of tablet PC owners are more satisfied with the tablet form factor, especially when it comes to watching videos.

You are sure to get a fair price when you give up your accessories like an iPad charging station because it has a good brand behind it. Overall, the report will help those who have yet to decide which tablet to buy.

As with all things compteresque, it really does depend on what you want to do with a tablet – apart from the buzz of simply owning one. This is particularly true as the border between a netbook and a tablet with keyboard is currently very thin.

Yes Michael. Well, the thing is, for now, owning a tablet’s still pretty much a status symbol more than anything, yes? Or a glamorized gaming console.

In my case, it’s Microsoft Office on a stick (and a keyboard). All the rest is pretty but secondary. Incidentally, this is coming from my desktop. 😉
