The Quest For Finished MMO Games

How many times have we bought a MMORPG or MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing game) with all our hopes dashed following the realisation that game play is actually not finished? Surely, too many times. For years the world of MMO, reigned by WoW, has had many competitors. Although the increase in competition should have been positive for players, it was eventually negative.

Indeed, the competitiveness between these giant gaming companies, generated to unseat the reign of WoW or get players needed to cover game development cost and provide secrecy of exclusive novelties in the new MMO, has created a very negative atmosphere for gamers particularly in relation to the quality of games and apparent increase in number of MMO game titles without a clear finish or structure.

No doubt this MMO saturation, with many games on sale prematurely, does not favour anyone. Moreso, more companies now focus more on how to “eat their cake and have it” thus putting potentially unfinished games or generally low-quality games on sale before they probably should.

It is however important to remember that gamers should be the real dictators in this matter; dictators with decisions that can make a business succeed or face the ruin. As a matter of fact, the use of social networks can and has well and truly helped users make their feelings and views heard. No longer can poorly developed or rushed MMO game publishers expect not to have any repercussion for their actions. Consequently, manufacturers like Plarium – who have started to actually listen to users – are most likely to be the ones who will survive thereby increasing popularity of their respective MMO games and accruing more gamers by the day.

The hallmark of such companies is actually ensuring that each time a new MMO game is launched, the games are actually completely ready for gamers with a clear finish in view. This ensures that players can get the very best experience during game time. In addition, a news, walkthrough and guide blog such as the Plarium MMO blog should be put in place to serve users by providing all the necessary information from the start to finish without particularly making the average user a victim of its marketing interests.

Unfortunately, in spite of the alleged war between MMO and players, not all gaming companies appear to be interested in fighting it. However, on a positive note, the really serious ones are here to provide the best MMO gaming product to all their followers. Long may it continue.
