Modern day Teens are preposterously foxy and astute when it comes to technology and gadgets. They are so ahead as compared to their previous generations, and sometimes its far difficult to keep up with them, and of course the advancing technology. Internet is like an open portal for them to explore and widen the horizon for their knowledge, and sometimes this portal can be quite unacceptable for your kids. A curious teenager can be quite difficult to handle and keep an eye on, and if you are doubtful enough that your teen might be browsing all the stuff that isn’t meant for them, its time to heads up and do a little research.
Have you ever wondered if your teenager has specifically placed their Computer away from the door, or if they act exemplary when you come up in their room, or if you never ever find any browsing history in the browser. All these things might just be an incidence, but chances are that your teenager might be surfing the wrong websites (if you know what we mean !)
… How should a protective parent act in this scenario ??
Well, first of all as a vigilant parent, you should talk to your teens, that is however applicable in cases where you have caught them browsing adult content. Do not straightway talk to them if you are not sure, because that might bring up trust issues, and you won’t want a teenager to get all rebellious and insane for another reason. Despite a parent-kid talk, another successful way to know about your kid’s browsing habits is by monitoring their online acts by means of some software.
Here are some tips and tricks to help you out..
Keystroke Logging
Keystroke Logging, or simply keylogging is a way to to record the keys that get struck on the keyboard, this is basically done in a clandestine way, that doesn’t lets the user know that their actions have been recorded. There are basic two kinds of keyloggers, i.e. Software Keylogger, and Hardware Keylogger.
Browser History
The simplest way to know about your teen’s browsing habits is by fetching the history details of the browser. Web browsing history is plainly a list of all those websites that have been visited by the browser, therefore checking the browser history can really help you narrow down your doubts.
Google Search History
Google search history is a collection of all everything that you have ever searched on Google search engine. Sometimes it’s beneficial to keep the search history for a long time, to look for particular links, but in case you come up with something unusual, it’s time to confront your teen.
Make sure you are prepared to confront your teens, because there may be chances that some results in histories could be because of suspicious advertisements popping up in browsers. Whatever the case maybe, its always better to stay put and placid with your teens, and make sure that nothing disturbs the trust between you and your kids.
