Apple Delays iPad Release

ipad logoApple has announced that the much anticipated sale of Apple iPad, by technology gadget enthusiasts, will be slightly delayed until April 3 in the United States and “late April” in the United Kingdom. Although no specific reason was given for the delay, analysts suggest it might be due to an “unspecified production problem”. First to be released will be the Wi-Fi models, while other ones with Wi-Fi and 3G networks will be released later in April.

The iPadis a tablet-style computer that is designed to be as an intermediary between laptops and smartphones. It is half-inch thick, has a 10-inch screen, and runs existing applications from the Apple apps store. The hi-tech gadget will be available in 16-gigabyte (from $499), 32-gigabyte (from $599) and 64-gigabyte (from $699) versions. In addition, it will include 12 new applications designed specifically for the computer and will run most of the over 140,000 iPod and iPhone apps.

The device and corresponding prices will be released in late April in the following countries; Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain and Switzerland. It is yet to be seen whether the delay will affect projected sales of the device.

Since the iPad is some kind of Sanitary Napkin, that should mean that this “Late” time means Stevie must be Prego!!

I consider Apple iPad as the least useful of all Apple products by far. This seemingly cool gadget that envisions to kill netbooks is somewhat overrated and over-talked! I don’t surmise that this will give people productivity even by surfing the Web.

I think the delay could have a negative effect as more and more people are going to be wither drawn away to other tablets/ebook readers OR just give up and decide to wait for the next gen iPad.

Only Apple knows the reasons behind these delays. It could have something to do with strategy, or plainly conflicts with regulations. Whatever it is, one thing’s for sure though. These babies will definitely be a hit.
