Since the beginning of the era of the Smartphone, the term mobile phone started to acquire a completely new meaning. The introduction of iPhone & iPad and the quick growth of Android were the milestones which changed the things forever. Mobile phones have became entertainment centers and all-in-one tools. However, many people still don’t realize that practically any Android phone can also be successfully used as a device for learning, teaching, or simply widening one’s horizons thanks to a few great educational apps.
HowStuffWorks
This app should be installed on absolutely any Android device. As the name suggests, HowStuffWorks will let you discover interesting facts about practically any thing in the world. Would you like to know how your computer works or discover some facts about it? Just type in “computer” in the search box at the top. Besides an advanced search tool, the app also offers a selection of extremely interesting articles, facts, quotes, quizzes, podcasts and videos on just about every topic you can think of.
Learn English with busuu.com!
The times when we were going to language schools to learn foreign languages seem to be gone. Now we can attend a complete language course… on our Android device and learn absolutely anywhere and anytime we want. Learn English with busuu.com! is one of the best language learning apps for Android. It covers levels from A1 to B2 and contains a wide range of learning materials, such as, photos, videos, recordings by native speakers, exercises and many more. Learning a foreign language has never been easier.
Countries of the World
This app will let you know everything you need to know about any country in the world. You just have to select the continent you are interested in and the most important facts about counties in it will be displayed. Once you finish studying the facts, you can check your knowledge using the “Quiz” mode. You can also browse a friendly-looking map and tap on countries of your interest to learn more about them. Can geography be a problem for anyone now?
Noom Weight Loss Coach
Not so long ago you needed a professional trainer, a ton of books and a pass to the gym to lose weight and get into shape. All you need right now is Noom Weigh Loss Coach, an extensive app designed especially to help people lose weight and teach them healthy eating habits. The app will set up your weight loss plan and provide you with interesting articles, facts, reminders so that you will introduce positive changes to your lifestyle and lose weight for good without the yo-yo effect.
Discovery News
This is another must-have app for anyone who is curious about the world and wants to discover the most amazing and interesting facts. Discovery News is an app in which you can browse articles about the latest cutting-edge technologies and news from the world of nature. The app might as well become a great replacement for traditional newspapers.
These five apps are just a few examples of a great number of Android educational apps which can let you widen our horizons and gain knowledge. Thanks to them, we can use each and every second of our life to the fullest. Not only can we discover the curiosities of the world while waiting in a line, but we can also learn a foreign language and answer all the unexpected questions of our children. This is just a drop in the ocean of learning opportunities our Android phones offer.

These apps are quite interesting and it will surely help gain more knowledge. I also enjoy using the free messaging apps available because I don’t need to spend money to send message especially if I’m using free wifi too.

I have to agree with you. HowStuffWorks is a great app. Whenever I find myself bored, I like to open HowStuffWorks app on my phone and, well, read how stuff works. It really is one of the most interesting apps I’ve stumbled upon so far.
