5 Limitations of the Amazon Kindle Fire Tablet

The Amazon Kindle Fire is not what many would consider as a full on tablet. It is more of an advanced version of its predecessor which comes very close to being a tablet. However, the fact that it is more economically priced has made it popular with users. At the reduced price we get a good display that show beautiful colors in addition to other impressive specs. However, there are some issues regarding the machine. Here are a few of them.

  • Small Screen- The screen has been found by many users to be too cramped up and the touch is not very accurate, leading to unwanted actions and errors. Users complain that the keyboard is small and always leads to typing errors. There isn’t much of a solution to this problem and with more use one can get more accustomed to the keyboard.
  • Lack of Parental Control- The interface of the Kindle is designed such that one can easily download material. The problem here is that kids have an unrestricted access to all the material that may be inappropriate for them. The one click purchase system adds to the issue.
  • Lack of External Buttons- There isn’t many external buttons on the Kindle. The positioning of the Power Off button on the bottom of the device leads to many accidental power off situations, there are also no buttons to control the device volume which is irritating especially while listening to music or watching movies.
  • Slow Browser- The much hyped silk browser which is powered by the Amazon cloud system was supposed to be very advanced browser, but it turned out to be a disappointment. The browser is slow and sometimes non responsive.
  • Not enough memory- The Kindle comes with only 8 GB memory which most of the users may find inadequate especially these who are planning to load on a lot of movies and music. The Kindle does not have any provisions for external memory card too.

I totally agree to what you’ve said. I’ve been using an ipad when reading ebooks. I’ve tried using kindle and it’s actually good because of its book like lettering and texture but unfortunately, you don’t have the liberty to read more in one page due to the screen.

For me, Ipad is still the best e book reader you can have .

Thanks for this post., I’m about to try it out this time good thing I’ve researched it first on google.
