Tips for Effective Responsive Web Design

When it comes to innovative website development, there are no limits. Web designers and developers around the world have been experimenting on the various possibilities that the internet offers for an effective online image. While there is no limit to imagination and creativity, many developers are restricted in their efforts because of the complexity in creating a website for the endless list of browsers and devices being used by the audience.

Responsive

Whether you are a company planning to get your website redesigned, or an internet solutions providing professional, there are a few things you must know about responsive web designing and how to creatively make a website which is not only attractive and appealing, but informative as well. After all, users do not want to browse the internet just for good media, but for gaining knowledge and utility.

Here are some tips you can implement during the development of websites to get an amazing online image for your business:

1. Simple Layout:

Although analysts say that users are drawn towards bulky websites with loads of media and animation, the reality is that people like easy loading pages which are attractive, and not necessarily heavily animated. Since there are a number of browser options available to users with a multitude of internet equipped devices, it is better to focus on a basic template and make it as attractive and informative as possible to create a wide appeal. The web pages should be fluid in nature, i.e. they should be designed in such a way that they can be accessed on any and every device, from desktop computers to tablets and mobile phones.

2. Know Your Audience:

Depending on the nature of your business, target your audience and develop the website by keeping focus on interests and likings of the targeted traffic. Also research about the various devices and browsers that the target audience prefers and uses mostly. This will help you gain a platform for starting your work and you will be able to focus the design in a specific direction. While you must create a version of your website for almost all web browsers and devices available, there is no effective need to do extensive work on not so popular screen and browser versions.

3. Keep it Readable and Browse-able:

While you decide to shrink or expand an existing website to fit into other screen sizes, make sure its pages remain in a decent condition. Some developers simply stretch or compress the size of content and images used in the web page to make it suitable for different screens. This might be easy, but it snatches the entire appeal and charm of the website as the user will not be able to read the content nor see the images and other media used on the pages.

4. Progressive Enhancement:

Instead of mere shrink and expand function, you should develop your website according to progressive enhancements. This concept involves gradual addition of the content and media on the web pages, with increase in the screen size and browser compatibility. Thus, in progressive enhancement, first the website is created in the smallest version, to be used on mobile phones with very small screens. Then the resolution of the website is increased and new content added, to make it compatible for various screen sizes until it reaches the maximum screen resolution properties till date.

These are just a few tips which can help you get an amazing website for your business. So, keep these points in mind when you set out to making a new online image of your company.
