The Parts Behind the Power

Everyone has gone mobile. That’s the conclusion that can be made from a new report released this week by the research firm IHS. The new data found that 1.5 billion smartphone shipments will be made within the next four years. This is actually more than double the number of smartphones that were shipped in 2012.

“The possible slowing growth of the iPhone and the rapid pace of competitive smartphones releases speak to the ferocious nature of the handset business, especially now as the market continues to pivot from a market dominated by lower-end handsets known as feature phones to one that is increasingly smartphone-centric,” IHS senior analyst Wayne Lam said in a statement.

With such a growing number of users, what this means is that there will be even more repairs, parts to be shipped and disgruntled smartphone customers. This industry in itself is a booming business, at least according to industry experts that say they’ve never been busier when it comes to fixing these mobile devices.
