Smartphones may be the trendiest gadget till date, but that’s just one side of the coin. Where it has become an integral part of every kid’s life, it also spells TROUBLE! You too might be tired of seeing your kids stuck on their mobile phones, busy texting and reading replies from friends, giggling over something and making funny faces. While, all you do is sit and wonder what is so funny that your kids find more important, sitting at the dinner table when everyone else is silently having dinner. If you want to keep your kids safe and away from any health or social issues that may arise in near future if not stopped, you should install smartphone parental controls on their phones.
Apart from talking about its use with your kids and educate them on its use, you can also establish some rules about using the cell phones. These are perhaps the most common measures that you can take to enlighten your kids on using their mobile phones the proper way. However, phones today come with more features than just calling or sending text messages. There are many applications that offer email and chat support, social networking apps, online games and much more. Where these sound good to the ears, they might not always render good results, particularly when seeing kids and teens using it.
According to a study conducted by a US research department, the average age at which kids are first exposed to pornography is 10. This can further be estimated to conclude that approximately 90% of kids from ages 8-18 have already viewed pornographic material online. Another study shows that the majority of kids view adult sites and content from their mobile phones. These may be in the form of websites online, sharing nude pictures with friends or sharing adult jokes, not appropriate for their age group.
There is more possibility that having a straight one-to-one discussion with your kids might get them to flareup, which might even result in them blaming you for invading their privacy. But, this is just one aspect; imagine holding their mobile phone bill in your hands and experience sticker shock!
To combat all the security and financial issues, installing a smartphone parental control can help you keep a catch on your kids mobile phone use, interestingly, without being noticed. These applications silently observe their cell phone activity and after copying the data, uploads it in a password-protected account online, registered in your name. Every time you feel like spying on your kids, you can log in and get updates.
With smartphone parental controls software, you can:
- View their call list and see you calls them or they call and also check the time, date and duration of the call.
- Read the test messages, both incoming and outgoing and see what kind of information is being exchanged with their friends and be the judge yourself.
- View sent and received emails and views the emailed content.
- View their contact list, with name, number, mobile number and email.
- Access important appointment, along with time and location mentioned.
Some advanced parental control software applications also offer you:
- Access to Internet browsing history, where you can see which websites and the number of times they have visited a site, mentioned separately against the URL.
- Access any saved bookmarks saved with the date and number of visits mentioned.
- View location of your kids on a web map maintained on the website. You can even view the entire location history, including all the places visited with complete address and time and date mentioned.
- You can even record surroundings of your kids, by sending an activating command to the mobile phone, which then acts like a tape recorder and records all the sounds in the phone’s background.
These exclusive features are offered in the best cell phone child monitoring applications only. Many companies are offering all these services with more useful features that can help parents flawlessly monitor their kids and attain the results, at an economical cost.
Instead of fighting that hopeless and anxious feeling, do yourself a favor and purchase the application for your kid’s Smartphone as soon as you can.

First of all, kids should not be allowed to use a smartphone or a PC until they know the good side and bad side of the internet. Parent should inculcate moral values in children so that even if they encounter pornography, they should just move away from that.

If those apps let you see exactly what your kid is doing on his smartphone, I don’t think its a good thing. I mean, up to a point might be useful but as the child grows you need to give him privacy. You can educate your kids in order to have trust in them. You don’t need so “spy” on them.

This seems a bit extreme, to be honest. I guess that managing what sites your child is going to visit is okay, provided by the fact that all over the web one can find content that is pretty harmful and inaproppiate. But when it comes to reading private text messages, it is outrageous. You should totally trust your child`s education and self-control, advise him whenever and communicate. There is no need to do such a thing.
