How to Write Blogs that can Drive Traffic to your Website

Here, we will discuss some tips that you need to follow while writing blogs that can drive traffic to your website. These tips work for everything whether it is a B2B, B2C, a personal blog or a corporate blog.

Blogging is one of the powerful tools to drive traffic to your website. Many large brands use blogs to bring traffic to their websites and thereby increase sales. But simply writing blog articles is not enough. You need to do it properly to attract the users and make them read it in one go. Not all businesses who write blogs drive huge traffic to their websites. So, it is very necessary to write blogs accurately.

Here, we will discuss some tips that you need to follow while writing blogs that can drive traffic to your website. These tips work for everything whether it is a B2B, B2C, a personal blog or a corporate blog.

Tip 1: Start off with a good title

Start writing a blog article only when you have a suitable topic or title. This is because 8 out of 10 people will read your blog title and only 2 of them will click through it. So, if your headline or title is not attractive enough then no one is going to read your blog article. This means only writing a good blog article is not enough but giving it an eye-catching, awesome headline is what matters the most.

Have you ever observed the articles while reading any magazine? You will see that all the articles in the magazine have attractive headlines or titles be it a corporate magazine, a business magazine or a fashion magazine. This is exactly what you have to do with your blog articles – create awesome headlines. While framing headline doesn’t just go for one version. Try to create 2 to 3 different versions of the title. Send it in your group, ask them for the feedback and then choose the one that works.

Tip 2: Introduction

This is another important factor after the headline or title in a blog article. An introduction gives a quick overview of what is covered in the rest of the article. It should be such that people get hooked to read the rest of your blog article. Include such bold statements in the introduction that people are tempted to read the entire article.

Tip 3: Body of the article

Body of the article is the main portion of the article which is read by the people. People generally skim the articles. If they cannot do that then your post won’t do well. So, make sure that your article is not written in long paragraphs. Keep the paragraphs of maximum 5 to 6 lines and include sub-headings in the article. This will make it easy for people to skim the article.

Tip 4: Link to other people

If you are using facts, figures or images from some other websites then don’t forget to link to them. Linking to other websites increases your credibility. It makes people believe in the stuff you have mentioned in your article. It makes your business look more like an expert. Moreover, since you are citing the other websites, it will open up your sources too.

Tip 5: Include a personal touch

People like to read articles that are relatable. Simply adding facts and figures won’t do any good for your post. Rather than that, try adding your personal touch to the blog posts. If people will be able to relate to your post they will surely read the entire article. Make it informal. Use words like ‘you’ and ‘I’ to make the readers feel that you are talking to them.

Tip 6: Add a conclusion

As per some analysis, it has been found that the readers do not read your blog article initially. They read the title, introduction and then just scroll down the article to read the conclusion. If they like the conclusion, they will again go up and read the entire article. So, it is always a good practice to wrap up your post with a conclusion. Summarize what your post was about in the conclusion. If possible, end your post with a question in the conclusion. This will increase the chances of many people leaving a comment on your post which in turn, will increase user engagement. So, don’t forget to end your post with a question.

Moreover, label it as a conclusion only. Don’t give it any other name as readers will be searching for conclusion label only. So, keep it simple and don’t make it fancy.

Tip 7: Shoot an email to the people you link to. Ask them to share your article

As said above in the fourth tip, link to the original sources you have taken facts, figures, and images from. Once you have published your article shoot an email to all those people you are linking to. Tell them that you are linking to them and ask them to share your article. This will make your post more credible as it will be shared by credible sources. Also, it will get more exposure and will reach to more people.

Conclusion:

Writing blog articles by following these tips will surely help you to drive a great amount of traffic. So, have you been following any of these tips previously? If not, which tips do you follow to write your blogs?
