We deal with millions of Android and iOS mobile operating system market, and there’s an inherent risk with the use of any mobile device in the enterprise. Even if we talk about futuristic view of this app both selling by the millions, with no sign of slowing down.
Mobile threats are increasingly hitting both sides of the divide it means that no platform can claim to be fully protected from hackers and cybercriminals. Historically, IT was drawn by Blackberry and Windows because of their mobile security and class features.
Now that place has taken by Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS. Google’s platform remains dominant in the overall smartphone market with a share of over 80% and the user experience is left open and adaptable – yet as a result more vulnerable by default.
While using technology you will never have 100% security for any smartphone of devices, but there are some security features which make iOS distinct from Android.
Software Updates:
Android users know that it offers monthly updates for security bulletin. They allow users to accept updates as per the convenience, when we don’t have phone space Android updates will stop downloading by single notification. Android users have an escape plan for security updates.
Followed by android apple also provide monthly updates for security version. Here, the only difference it mandatory to download the most recent security updates. Notification will continue pop-up till the user accepts. The OS makes it harsh for customer to ignore any kind of security updates.
Touch ID:
The current favourite trend is finger print Touch unlock system. Android is purchasing or adopting this system partnering with manufacturers who are offering Fingerprint Scan option, the number is still very limited.
We all know this is not the case with Apple. From the very first-time apple has always been clear when it comes to biometric verification on their devices. Touch ID, Technologies like Iris Scan and Face ID have also been introduced by Apple first. The OS giant, keep investing millions in the security focused technologies.
Threat Level:
Hackers are everywhere they Login into your account and able to access all the personal information. As per market, we have more Android users than iOS. Anyone can make an entry to create an application so there are a higher percentage of mobile malware targets Android than iOS.
The threat level for android is higher when we compare to apple. It only takes pace of perfectly former Malware to do damage so, the both platforms are equally at risk from social engineering.
Hardware Consolidation:
Android hardware is manufactured differently than apple. Android offers a huge choice for every taste and budget. Even though apple lack in providing a huge range somehow it manages to stay in the game by providing high class services.
On the other hand, Apple has full control over its hardware security.
Accessibility:
People have mindset for the fact that Android is more complicated than iOS prevails, but both offer a good range of accessible features.
IOS belongs to single manufactures so they are less cluttered and more streamlined than Android. However, Android has different devices from different manufacturer. We can say it’s uniform to access iOS over Android.
App Store:
Apple has more control over the applications in the store which comes for approval and updates. On the other hand, Android also provides strict rules for developing an app, but still give more chances to marvel and threat to harm the security.
While android gave chance to develop to have created, it enables to hackers to hack system more easily. So, we can say iOS have a more secure process which gave less harm to the device.
Conclusion:
Right now, the world is in your hand. You can a whole new world with your own personal identity So, it’s very difficult to compare this two. Android users are in the millions, but when it comes to corporate or profession use the Apple is always going to be King in the Market.
IOS make place in market by providing high security and consistency for users. So, we believe as per security check the Apple’s iOS better than Google’s Android.
