Since breaking away from Huawei, Honor has consistently impressed customers by offering a compelling combination of high-quality mid-range and budget devices that have become game-changers in the industry.
The Honor 90 is the latest addition to the company’s Number Series smartphones. Featuring premium-looking styles in the mid-range smartphone category, the Honor 90 is an underrated contender against industry giants like Samsung and Apple.
Design
Despite being a mid-ranger, the Honor 90 comes with pretty high-end features. One of its best highlights is the design which is thin-looking, lightweight, and shiny appearance, measuring 161.9mm tall, 74.1mm wide, and only 7.8mm thick. This means the device is very comfortable to hold, so you don’t have to worry about an aching arm during a long gaming session.
Sleek and slim, Honor 90 has curved edges giving it a premium feel. It comes in three colors – Midnight Black, Emerald Green, and Diamond Silver. The phone also features a curved metal frame and a solid plastic back.
Display and sound
Honor has raised the bar with the 90’s stunning 6.7-inch, AMOLED, curved screen that looks amazing and provides a blissful visual experience. With an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 93.3% and minimal bezels to distract you, the experience is more than worthy of the prize.
The display is brighter than ever and supports HDR 10+ for enhanced contrast. It also showcases vivid colors that truly stand out no matter what you are watching.
With a dynamic refresh rate of 60 to 120 Hz, you’ll enjoy a smooth on-screen action, which is adjustable depending on what you are watching. The phone also has a sharp resolution of 2664 x 1200, which makes it perfect for gaming.
Camera
Honor 90 camera is the stand-out feature, with 200MP Ultra-Clear Camera, alongside a 12MP, f/2.2 autofocus-enabled ultrawide that can double as a powerful macro cam on the back. On the front, the device has a 50MP ultrawide selfie. Both ends can handle 4K@30fps video capture and support EIS.
Specs and Performance
There are two RAM configurations for Honor 90 – 8 GB and 12 GB, allowing you to have more apps open simultaneously, load apps faster and make your web browser quicker and more responsive. With Honors RAM Turbo technology, you can add up to 7GB of extra RAM to the phone, which allows for better multitasking.
The Honor 90 is also powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, Accelerated Edition. The core of the chip remains unchanged. However, the CPU’s prime core has been overclocked to 3.2GHz, resulting in a 10% increase in CPU performance.
Storage
There are two storage options with the 90, starting from 256GB to 512 GB. You’ll have tons of space for games, apps, pictures, videos, and films.
Battery
Honor 90 battery life is fantastic. Its 5000 mAh cell can last all day with some extra juice to spare. This device averages roughly 14 hours with moderate to heavy use. It also features a 66W Supercharging that can get up to 45% in just 15 minutes and a little over 40 minutes to fully charge. A charging plug is provided in the box.
Durability
The Honor 90 has a plastic case, keeping it safe even if you accidentally drop it.
Prize
Honor 90 is priced at £449.99 RRP for 8+256GB storage, and £499.99 RRP for 12+256GB respectively. This is one of the rare times when it is better to go for the higher-spec option.
Overall, Honor 90 is definitely a stand-out mid-range device for its price. Its stunning display, great camera, generous storage capacity, and long battery life, give it raw power over other mid-range devices out there.
