Get Yourself Connected to High Speed Broadband

The 21st Century is all about networking. In an age when the ecological future of our planet is at best uncertain, and, according to some sources, quite doomed, the need to communicate remotely, without the need for an energy-sapping commute is greater than ever.

But it’s not about returning to a pastoral existence. Far from it. Technology has managed to keep pace with – and serve for the better – the new demand for energy conservation. So the modern-day demand for super-fast broadband is, far from being part of a greedy western want-it-now culture, quite the most obvious way forward in terms of the ecology and economy of the world. And yet over half of all Americans have an internet service that falls short of the FCC’s minimum standard of service. Slow connections and even dial-up still pervade the market, despite the availability of far more advanced technology.

Entire companies can now be run from the internet, without the need for expensive offices. Brand new avenues of business are opening up that would not be possible save for internet connectivity. And existing companies that fail to update their practices to include web services can expect to die off. Education and entertainment are available online, eliminating the need for expensive tertiary education. Audio and video streaming, pdfs, browsing web pages – all these forms of multimedia can target specific demographics, offering them niche services that would have been unthinkable twenty years ago. Films and lectures can be studied, paused, rewound, compared, dismissed, discussed and referenced. Traditional university education is threatening to become an anachronism. Thanks to the web.

Internet service providers are well placed to build on their already astonishing success. The sheer range of broadband providers out there, offering cheap, speedy broadband, has opened up a whole new economy for the modern era. High download speeds are now considered the norm, and anyone lagging behind is putting themselves at a significant disadvantage.

And it’s not just the ISPs. Software companies are booming, as are hardware firms, selling all the latest accessories to enable greater connectivity. Places like RS Components are helping people stay ahead of the curve. Click the link to learn more about how RS can help you get better connected with rj11 connectors and other pieces of kit.

We are able to use a faster internet connection with every day, I can remember those days when I only had a dial-up modem and the pictures has been downloaded on segments:) And now? 4G network everywhere, on our mobile device as well. That’s an evolution, I think. I don’t know where this will lead.

I also remember when I used to log on to my modem after midnight just to check the email and the sport news and now we have streaming sport transmissions in HD. The future is looking bright to me 🙂

The Internet is now deemed a necessity for many people, because it is where they can access almost any type of information they need. Broadband service providers must be more competitive and innovative if they would like to attract customers.

Oh, I would like to say, you’d be surprised that there are still many areas in the world that do not have Internet access. They still rely on books, and learn the old-fashioned way, through teachers, parents and their society. So glad that I’m lucky enough to have access on the Net. 🙂
