Apple Ipad Sale Begins

ipadShops in America have begun selling the Apple iPad. The iPad, a tablet (mini) computer, is the latest digital product from Apple. It comes with Wi-Fi but 3G connectivity is conspicuously absent from the current version. Stores started selling the device as early as 0900 EST (1400 BST) today, in New York although the product is yet to be released outside the United States. However, there are reports that many gadget/technology enthusiasts have travelled to the US from all over the World to get their hands on the product.

The BBC reports that “queues for the new iPad were considerably smaller than the crowds which gathered for the launch of the iPhone in 2007”. Whether this is a sign of what to expect in terms of the  overall performance of the iPad in the market is not yet known. Although prices in Europe have not been announced yet, the iPad is being sold in the US at $499 – $829 (£328 – £545).

Talking Point

Are you one of the early adopters of the iPad tablet computer? If not, would you consider buying one?

      1. I believe other carriers in certain countries are now offering the iPhone and it would be interesting to see what these does to both devices in terms of sales at the end of this financial year.

  1. Yes, I did buy one. I would never miss this one out. This is history. This is the mark of the post-PC era. Look now. Almost everybody is trying to come up with their own version of the iPad. It would not be far from now that all computers will look and work like this. It’s just a matter of time.
