Blogging emerged as a natural consequence of the development of the Internet and Social Media as people were more and more eager to share something about them with the rest of the world. In time, it slowly turned into a revolution, probably among the most important ones that happened after the Internet was introduced. Nowadays, there are blogs almost about everything, personal blogs, business blogs, information blogs – you name it. On their way to success, bloggers face many different challenges, and some they need to address even before they start blogging. Here are few of them:
What To Blog About?
If you are just starting a blog think of areas or niches you have deep interest in, something you would love to explore and gain more knowledge as you research the subject. This way you’ll always have something new and interesting to write about, without feeling the burden of having no inspiration for your next posts. You know the famous Confucius quote: Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life. Apply this thought when selecting the topic for your blog. Having high quality content that people find useful, love to read and share with other people through social media, is always rewarded by the search engines. And on the other hand, stealing and plagiarizing other websites’ content is not acceptable in blogging, and is also penalized by the search engines.
How Often To Blog?
If you want your blog to gain and maintain regular audience, you need to regularly post unique, fresh, interesting and engaging content, and not start a blog, write few posts and then stop. Your readers will sooner than you forget about your blog. It depends on the type of the blog what the frequency of blog posts should be. A news blog requires more frequently updated content than a technology blog, for example. You can prepare some blog posts in advance and then publish as you need them, or if you don’t have enough time to write the content by yourself, you can outsource the work to somebody else who will get the job done and get paid for it.
How To Generate Traffic To The Blog?
With the thousands of different blogs being created every other day, it’s not easy to reach out to a wider audience than your own circle of family and friends. You need to get your blog posts to the audience you target, and if your content has quality and provides information they’ll find helpful, creative or interesting, your blog posts will by themselves bring you more users and traffic. To better promote it you can use some of the popular social media networks, depending on your blog niche, like Google +, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, StumbleUpon. This will bring you targeted traffic, potential regular visitors that will love to read your blog.
What Is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
SEO refers to the science and art of creating and building websites that will appear higher in the popular search engine result pages when users search a specific query. SEO is directly related to the success of your blog, and its importance today cannot be ignored. If your blog is listed higher in the search results, it will bring lots of traffic to your blog on a constant basis. A good frequency of posting highest quality content, along with SEO will do wonders for your blog in long run. You can hire an expert to help you optimize your website, but if how SEO works interests you, you can easily learn the fundamentals and upgrade your knowledge as you apply it in practice, thanks to the large amount of quality articles that can be found on the Internet on this subject.
How To Make Money While Blogging?
You can start making money from your blog, but only when it gets popular and starts generating regular traffic. There are options like Google adsense, paid reviews, affiliate marketing, etc., but whichever option you choose for your blog, try not to overuse it, because blog readers are not big advertisement fans.

Creating a high-quality blog and optimizing a high ranking is really quite a task. But, I believe that if you are blogging because you love what you are doing and not just for the sake of earning, you would surely enjoy doing it, and eventually get a good result.

I also agree with Sarah. Blogging just for making money won’t take you far and you may end up wasting a lot of your time and money.

I think the topic is the most important part of blogging. you have to know the topic well and enjoy writing about it. that way you have plenty to write about and do not mind adding new post often. trafic will come if you offer new inforation or ideas.
