For most bloggers and Website owners, there is one pertinent question that always goes on and on in their minds and that is in relation to increasing visitors to their sites. Just like the saying ” If wishes were horses, beggars would ride”, a lot of us can only wish that there was a red button somewhere which automatically generates tons of quality Web traffic with little or no effort. However, with several million Websites on the Internet today, it is no surprise that competition is rife and only the fittest will survive. The following are therefore three important ways (which are not often mentioned) of making sure that your Website or Weblog gets as many traffic as possible from the World Wide Web.
Stand Out From The Crowd
The title says it all; it is absolutely self-explanatory. Consider an overcrowded setting where you want to get noticed, what do you do? Simple answer is behave differently from others, do something that is not common, make the loudest noise. So then, when it comes to getting more visitors to your site from the US or anywhere, you have to constantly think outside the box. Do something different every time. Take it or leave it, originality really does count. I could give a few examples of ways to do that but then it won’t be so unique anymore 🙂
Increase Your Reputation
There is no better way to improve your reputation other than standing for something you believe in. Become known as a specialist in your field. Be controversial. Hook up with other high-ranking or similarly ambitious Web owners who are not satisfied with being where there are. As a researcher, I know that the value of your thesis depends on not only the amount of references you have but the quality also and that is where you have to know not to increase backlinks just for the sake of it but rather do so with those who matter by all means.
Respect Those Before You
There is a popular saying that you have to give honour to whom honour is due. Well, one of the biggest mistakes some of us make is not actually giving any thought, consideration or indeed value to the opinions and advice of more experienced bloggers. Experience cannot simply be bought and you do not always have to go through the entire process yourself. Hence, in this business it is extremely important to be willing to learn from those who have been in it longer than you. Thirst for knowledge. Learn, learn and learn some more.
What other uncommon ways can one increase the popularity of a Website or blog?

Guest post is one of the unusual way to increase the traffic of your blog. Bring other writter onboard can help a lot.
February 5, 2011 at 10:19 pm
Great post, all very good points. Standing out is a tough one but definitely effective. I agree guest writers with fresh content can generate more traffic. Teaming up with people from other SEO companies can increase traffic to your sites and blogs. With over 400 changes to Google’s search algorithm per year, there are many uncommon techniques out there.
February 6, 2011 at 10:06 am
unusual it is… But i think it would work… would like to try it though
February 6, 2011 at 2:48 pm
From your this post I have got that the advice is the main thing that lead a person towards success.
February 9, 2011 at 2:43 pm
according to my thinking the main reason is we can,t respect those who are after us …………………..
February 9, 2011 at 6:12 pm
But being *original, reputable and respectful* is so haaaaaard 🙂
Even in real life.
I just feel sorry for those who think there’s something _unusual_ in being original, reputable and respectful;)

Point number 1 & 2 both are connected to each other. Page title is like a company slogan which should appeal the reader in first look. Title should tempt the user to know what’s behind tile. Second point is more important, If there is no product quality or useful content user wont bother again about the appealing title. Guest posts can be an other option to make a good reputation.

If you want more traffic, strive for repeat visitors. Regulars make a site and they also spread word about the site and bring in more visitors.
February 11, 2011 at 6:06 pm
Good point Sourav, repeat visitors are a good thing. It means you must be doing something right as a webmaster.
February 12, 2011 at 3:43 pm
i would add one more point, I have noticed if you follow famous bloggers and comment on their latest posts, you will also get noticed by others they will reply to your suggestions and give helpful tips. If you add something valuable, then certainly people will click your link from the comment to follow. Just Sharing my 2 cents! Nice post by admin 🙂
February 12, 2011 at 3:51 pm
I have to agree with you there. I have actually done so myself i.e. visiting other blogs/websites because someone left an insightful comment.
February 14, 2011 at 6:46 am
Traffic is most important for any site. If you want to more traffic at your site you should follow above rules and get more traffic at your site. I think its good information for internet marketing.
February 15, 2011 at 3:50 pm
I think every webmaster wants more traffic to their website. I agree with you when you mention increasing your reputation to increase traffic. Once you have a good reputation in your field people will look at you as an authority figure and this will lead to you developing a loyal following.
When your reputation is good people will send traffic to your site for you by recommending your content and what you have to offer. I think another great way you can increase the traffic on your site is by participating on social media sites like Twitter and Facebook.
February 18, 2011 at 8:11 am
Repeat users are very important and if we want to have regulars we should remember about those tree rules.
February 18, 2011 at 8:11 am
We’ve got to pay dues those who were before us bacause this way we can learn a lot more than if we are arrogant and we don’t coun’t with anyone, and of course than more likely it will be that someone will try to destroy you.
February 19, 2011 at 8:43 pm
respecting visitors is the best way to pull and retain best traffic
February 20, 2011 at 1:18 am
There are a lot of factors to follow and rules to respect. Like you said – stand out from the crowd, it is one of the best ways to increase trafic, think of it like this: why would anyone visit my website upon a competitor of mine on the same niche ? What’s so special and unique about my website ? Why should I deserve more trafic upon one of my competitors ? Those are great questions that you must answer yourself being sincerely, answer the questions then start working harder and better, try to focus more on your work and don’t think non-stop about the money, keep the passion for your work on. Thank you very much for sharing this excellent article, keep up the good work !
February 20, 2011 at 1:09 pm
Thanks for the insights Maria. Very well said indeed.
February 23, 2011 at 6:51 am
out of all those which you have mentioned, Standing out with a different results is the key to any one. You should also add a creative touch to it.
February 27, 2011 at 10:41 pm
Everybody wants traffic but targeted traffic is better. A small but targeted traffic is better as a high “normal” traffic. For my sites i use guest posts for more targeted traffic. It is simple and effective.
March 13, 2011 at 11:37 pm
When it comes to targeted traffic, you have to choose wisely because although the internet is vast with several million users worldwide, if your targeted area is saturated you might find it a little hard to make any kind of progress.
March 1, 2011 at 9:32 am
Content is the king.. No matter how bad your blog in looks or your reputation, but if you have something what others dont but all wants, Internet is yours 😀
March 1, 2011 at 1:36 pm
Good post for beginners. Another important thing to note is that good, solid, consistently helpful content for your readers is the most important. As you get more links in and more traffic, people will often check out your blog homepage.

March 27, 2011 at 1:50 pm
If you understand SEO and how to apply it properly, you are definitely on to a winner.
March 12, 2011 at 9:59 pm
Some good pieces of advice you’ve got there. I think that sharing, lots of sharing is also a good way to increase traffic. It might not be an unusual way but it does the trick. Start with your friends and family and encourage them to “spread the word”.
March 20, 2011 at 4:28 pm
I find your posting very true. Since the recent google algorithm change and update. Many farm or spam blogs have been penalized and taken down. Therefore, it is wise to stand out of the crowd as you mentioned. Not only that, your content has to be able to communicate to the web users and make them stay in order to keep your rankings. I suppose your particular blog has it and i look forward coming back to this site. Cheers.

Thanks for the comment lingzhi.

This post has boosted me a lot. Thanks… Hope I will satisfy my audience.
April 14, 2011 at 4:22 pm
You ‘re welcome Raman. Glad you benefited from the article.
May 7, 2011 at 7:27 am
I totally agree with the ideas you have mentioned. But I got another suggestion for bloggers to find blogs that are of similar topics and ask for link exchange. They could go to blog directories and then go to the category their blog belongs to and then visit other blogs. Post comments and then contact the blog owner. I like this method because similar blogs tend to attract the same targeted groups and thus are more likely to lead referrals. And by the way, bloggers could submit their blogs to directories and get more traffic.
May 12, 2011 at 6:34 am
Be controversial is the key in increasing your blog’s popularity online. There are many blogs now that are talking the same thing over and over again. If you are not controversial, you will not be noticed.
May 26, 2011 at 1:25 am
I agree with Raymund a little bit but been controversial at times might not work for all bloggers….because if you’re targeting a particular group of traffic (niche based) and you’re controversial, you will certainly get more traffic but not all of them will be a loyal one. So, been controversial and putting out the right information to the right people that needs it is one of the key that guarantees success in attracting more traffic to your blog.
July 22, 2011 at 12:20 pm
How about looking at it this way Wale; being controversial can go in two ways – however, if you do it rightly there is the potential of getting a kind of viral effect whereby many more people will recommend your article to others. Remember what they say about celebrities that do anything to get to the headlines – “any publicity is good publicity”.
June 1, 2011 at 3:44 pm
I have found that by engaging in social media I can get a trickle of traffic but this is nothing compared to what I get from Google. You just need to always offer value – even if you’re selling something – offer value. It’s not hard to stand out if you try 🙂
June 3, 2011 at 9:30 pm
Thanks for these great tips! I definitely agree with you that originality goes a long way and can be the determining factor of whether your site will be successful or not. Two people could have the same exact information, but the one who is more creative and original in how they put that information on their site will get more views than the one with a common web template.
June 16, 2011 at 9:02 am
Nice points! The best one is in taking advice from experienced bloggers, you certainly earn a lot in taking their advice..
Thanks for the tips. Clear, short and easy to memorize
July 22, 2011 at 12:16 pm
Thanks for the comment Josh
July 21, 2011 at 9:03 am
a very interesting suggestion, you are cool brother
July 22, 2011 at 11:18 am
I definitely believe, it’s all in the hand of the webmaster to bring traffic to their website. Ofcourse, by not spamming….
July 22, 2011 at 12:21 pm
That’s right Matthew. I certainly wouldn’t recommend spamming.
July 27, 2011 at 4:28 pm
I usually just make youtube video. That is a very good way to drive traffic to your site.
It’s easy (if you make videos every so often) and all you need to do is put your link in the description, first thing.
I have seen a Google PR increase of 3 over the past year doing this.
August 3, 2011 at 6:09 am
TRAFFIC! thats the one word that really make all of us working from home, work even harder! i think we will will spend remaining of our lives in searching for the perfect answer for ‘how to get traffic?’ some thing works for some one doesnt work for me, what works for me doesnt work for someone other..
August 20, 2011 at 7:11 am
i wouldn’t say it all that unusual though… some people just don’t get to figure these out themselves and that’s why it’s unusual for them.. 🙂
September 16, 2011 at 9:55 pm
I don’t think any of this advice is unusual, actually! It seems like these would all be great ways to increase traffic, and I plan to implement them in my own strategy ASAP! 🙂
September 20, 2011 at 2:13 pm
Thank you for your post. And I think those below should be take into consideration:
1. Article Submission Directories
2: Yahoo! Answers
3. Create HubPages and squidoo
4. Using Twitter
5. Forum Marketing
September 20, 2011 at 2:26 pm
Thanks for the addition Lavoie
October 28, 2011 at 2:30 am
Article submission directories and forum marketing are great ways to boost your SEO. Just make sure your articles are well written and your forum responses are intelligent. Your online reputation depends on it 🙂
October 27, 2011 at 10:28 pm
I agree with all your points and definitely the second point about increasing your reputation. It is very time consuming to build up a good reputation but after writing great content I think it is the next best thing to spend your time on.
November 22, 2011 at 9:59 am
I still have lots to learn. I know it’s never easy to stand out from the crowd because there are millions out there who would want to do that. I think listening and taking advice from the others before me is a good way to make a reputation.
