Twitter’s New Look and New Features

For all those who thought Twitter’s layout was congested and old, here is some good news. Twitter has come up with a new layout that looks very fresh and neat. Introduced last December, it has become an instant hit among the users already. Here are a few new changes listed.

Brand Pages inclusion

Like its competitor Facebook, Twitter has introduced new “brand page” section for business accounts. This feature can help companies interact more with their followers. Companies can use this feature to promote themselves in a big manner. In the coming days, with more changes happening, companies might be able to customize their brand pages with larger logos, images and taglines.

Home page changes

When it comes to functionality, everything remains almost the same. The look of the home page is improved. There are three tabs on the top left side of the home page – Home, @ connect and # discover. While the function of the home page is same as the old one, the functions of other two tabs have changed. @ connect can be used to track the communication you have had with other users. It integrates both mentions and @ replies. Discover function lets you search for relevant trending news and stories around the globe.

Keyboard shortcuts

This again is a new feature added to Twitter. You will be able to view the list of keyboard shortcuts upon clicking your profile button on the far right. You can compose a new tweet by using “N” and retweet a tweet by just using “T” on your keyboard. You can do all this without having to use the actual boxes. The new tweet window appears right on your page to make it all simpler.

Display

There is a huge change in your profile display front. There is a larger space provided for your name and other details. This can be of great advantage to companies as the brand names will now look larger. There are some quick buttons introduced for followers, following, favorites and lists.

Photo feature

The new photo feature is something that Twitter wanted to incorporate for a long time. Although some developments on photo viewing front had already taken place, this new photo feature makes it easier to share pictures.

The new Twitter design looks cleaner than the old one. These changes can benefit both individual users and companies alike. Twitter’s aim is to make it all simpler and friendly for its users.

Hey, Mark! I totally agree! However, Facebook has developed some sections for journalists (those subscriptions) that compete with Twitter when it comes to breaking news.

I tried some of their new features especially the key shortcuts. You can easily access the tweets and any other things you can do in Twitter. Thanks for sharing the other information in your site, maybe I should try to test it.

I’m not sure how much of an impact this will have on Twitter account. I hardly ever visit an Twitter page, I always use some service like Hootsuite and Tweetdeck. But top brands might find some value in this.

It is good to hear that Twitter has introduced Brand pages like it’s competitor FB. I always preferred FB but now I think I will also try to make most from Twitter. It will help in more networking for my small business. Also Photo feature looks interesting. By making such upgrades Twitter can become a part and parcel for business owners like me. Thanks for updating us!

Looking at the home page it wasn’t obvious this is now a social media site intent on making the most of your experience. Other than the placement of incoming tweets and a few other minor adjustments there wasn’t anything to write home about. That is until I browsed the navigation bar. The plain Jane navigation menu is a thing of the past. Instead of having it on the sidebar as it had been for years, it is now at the top of the page.

New feature also are great but a lot of reactions also appears as why they did changes so fast.but anyway part from that this article is great.

Oh yeah I noticed that there has been a few changes on Twitter. I like that you don’t have to scroll all the way up just to look for a reply, now you can reply to the tweet itself. Other than this I haven’t notice anything significant. Personally, I think Twitter is a great way to connect with your friends so as long as it stays user-friendly then I’m all good with the changes.

Hey this was really a nice article. Twitter launches it new looks that will help to encourage more people to flock to the site. One of the major new features is a discovery tab that lets you tap into search results based on your personal interests. Keep sharing such more.

Actually my friends twitter account gets the new design some days back but not mine and i dont understand the reason but after few days my account also gets the new twitter design. The interface is fine but it would be much better if it gets more options for the users.

Every social media website wants to be better than other and so now and then we see facebook or twitter renovating the page. Their main focus is attraction and innovativeness to be added in the page to get more attention. This is the main marketing and branding strategy. Photo feature and keyboard shortcuts excites me, I am waiting for twitter’s new look.
