The Most Useful Tools for Reverse Phone Lookup

Receiving phone calls from numbers that you can’t identify can be frustrating. Sales calls, prank calls, and even scam calls can be quite common, and these nuisance calls have even brought a Federal agency to a standstill. In some cases, you might even be concerned that an unknown caller is somebody that your partner or child is communicating with secretly, and would like to figure out who it is. All of these situations are ones where a reverse phone lookup tool comes in handy. These tools allow you to search for the details associated with the owner of a telephone number, including their name, address, and other information. Here are some of the most useful tools for reverse phone lookup.

Nuwber:

Nuwber is an easy-to-use online tool that allows you to search for the owner of an unknown number. Whether you’re worried about getting scam callers or want to know who is calling your husband in the middle of the night, all you need to do is enter the number into the website to pull up any information that is held on it. Nuwber provides accurate results including names and usernames, email addresses, residential addresses, additional phone numbers, and public records for the owner of the telephone number.

TrueCaller:

TrueCaller is a good app to use if you are getting telephone calls from somebody whose number you do not recognize. All you need to do is install the application on your smartphone from the App Store or Google Play Store, open the app, and click on Get Started. Make sure that your phone is connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data. You will need to create an account and verify your phone number via voice call or SMS. When you get a call from a number you don’t know, all you need to do is copy and paste it into the search bar in the app and TrueCaller will display the name and location of the number’s owner.

Social Media:

Sometimes, Facebook provides a quick and easy way to immediately identify who is calling you. You can use the search bar on the Facebook home page to enter a telephone number, and if the person who owns that number has included it on their personal profile when they signed up, their profile will appear on Facebook. However, bear in mind that this might not always work, as if the user has chosen to hide this information on their profile, they will not appear in search results when you search for their number. You can also do the same using Twitter, providing that the user hasn’t switched their discoverability settings off.

WhitePages:

WhitePages is a useful reverse phone lookup service that you can access from both a computer browser and your PC. It identifies the name of a caller along with allowing you to find somebody’s phone number or address. However, bear in mind that many people who use this service complain that the information they receive is very minimal.

Google:

Naturally, your first point of call when trying to identify a number you don’t recognize might be Google. And while searching for the number in Google might not provide you with as much information as some of the other reverse phone lookup services out there, it can help you determine if you are being contacted by a business, for example.

Have you ever used any of these methods for identifying a caller? Which would you recommend?
