Setting Up A Home Theater Projector

Connecting standard home theater keeps getting easier, even though today’s technology is more advanced than ever. The parts are easy to mix and match, and with simple instructions the task can be completed in a timely manner without the help of a professional installer.

Choosing the System

The type and the size of the system typically depend on the dimensions of the room and the acoustic chamber it creates. The viewing angles and the seating arrangements should also be taken into consideration when setting up the screen and the projector to ensure comfortable viewing experience. It is recommended to place the speakers close to the screen but away from the corners. The careful layout of seating will guarantee proper distance from the screen and the speakers.

Projector Requirements

Controlling the light in the room will provide the most effective picture. Distracting lights and reflections will create distortions and glare on the screen. To ensure that the projector performs to its peak capability, the gear should be strategically placed. Proper image contrast will be achieved by using the projector in a fully darkened room without any light reflections. Conventional projection lamps are typically used for most projectors where the life of the standard lamp is limited. LED lighting reduces energy intake and virtually assures no dimming over time.

Color, Contrast and Brightness

Most projectors arrive fully calibrated with the color, contrast and brightness. On those rare occasions when the parameters fail to perform, the help of the professional calibrator may be required to achieve the desired results. There are various ways to measure all three factors including generation of color points and comfortable brightness level. The brightness is indicated by gamma and determines the appearance of images. Color management system will help to adjust the correct color points.

Surround Sound

The holographic details can create an amazing cinematic experience. However, the surround system plays just as important role in the completion of the home theater. Audio effects account for half of the experience, and the gear should be chosen carefully to complement the screen and the projector. The number of speakers and more amplifier power greatly depends on the personal preferences of the user.

Sensible acoustic manipulation will allow the user to create a home theater of their choice. Highly advanced products combined with strategic placement of the equipment and seating will require some finesse and knowledge, but will lead to establishing a comfortable environment where the program viewing will be appreciated by all participants.
