Most Popular Tourist Destinations in Himachal Pradesh

Hello, my name is Kabir Singh, and I’d like to thank you for providing me with this fantastic platform to share my knowledge with the travel community. I would like to write some important information about the most famous and popular tourist places in Himachal Pradesh. This information can be very helpful to tourists who are planning to visit a beautiful hill station in India like Himachal Pradesh. So let’s start.

This amazing hill station offers famous hill stations such as Shimla, Kullu, Manali, Dharamshala, and Dalhousie. Himachal Pradesh offers so many destinations, but these four to five destinations are famous and popular among tourists due to their climate and nature. Also, these places are open throughout the year, and tourists can book these places at any time for their Himachal tour travel package. Shimla, Kullu, and Manali are also popular honeymoon destinations.

Shimla

Shimla is the capital city of Himachal Pradesh, one of India’s most beautiful hill stations. This city has many British colonial buildings along with churches and temples. The Mall and Ridge Road are long stretches of shops that offer handicraft products. The most beautiful part of Shimla is the Kalka-Shimla narrow gauge railway, which is part of the World Heritage UNESCO Site. Tourists must enjoy the ride of the toy train through more than 100 tunnels from Kalka to Shimla or Shimla to Kalka.

Manali

Manali is a beautiful valley that is known for its natural beauty and snow-capped view of the Himalayas. It is located in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh at a height of 2,050 meters above sea level. Rohtang Pass is at a height of 9000 feet, which makes Manali a perfect tourist destination due to its amazing natural views and ice sports. It is also a gateway to Lahaul and Spiti and Leh-Ladakh. The newly constructed Atal Tunnel is a major draw near Solang Valley. The Atul Tunnel connects people throughout the year with Lahaul, Spiti, and Leh Ladakh. The Beas River is another great attraction in the Manali valley for picnics and adventure sports.

Dharamshala

Dharamshala is a popular hill station to watch and feel the Buddhist culture and also to study the many Buddhist monasteries in Kangra valley. Dharamshala town is also known as “Mini Lhasa” in India, which is also home to the 16th guru, “The Holiness Dalai Lama”. This town offers traditional Buddhist cuisine, culture, and lifestyle. McLeod Ganj is a superb place to watch all these. The Dalai Lama monastery and Norbulingka Institute are the major attractions among tourists from around the world.

Dalhousie

Dalhousie, the town of the British era, is a superb tourist destination in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, which is at a height of 2,000 meters above sea level. This town offers many quiet tourist attractions like sunset points and natural views. Dhauladhar Mountain Rages is one of them. Khajjiar is the most important tourist place in this area, which is 24 km away from Dalhousie town. It is also known as the Switzerland of India or “Mini Switzerland”. Chamba is the headquarters of the district, which is 50 km from Dalhousie and very popular for its Laxmi Narayan Temple, Chowgan, and Chamunda temples.

Transportation

People look forward to being comforted while traveling, so the most convenient and conformable mode of transportation is either train or flight. You can choose either of them. Both are good modes of transportation. If you want a luxury trip, you can choose a flight, and if you believe in a budget trip, go for a train. So, book your journey ticket at your convenience, but in case you get a wait-list ticket, don’t forget to check your updated PNR status before leaving. You can check flight PNR status or train PNR status from the available online portals.

Conclusion

So, these were the best places to visit in Himachal Pradesh, and if you are planning to head here, then you can surely opt for Shimla, Kullu, or Manali for a memorable vacation to enjoy with your loved ones.
