How to Make Money as an Independent Developer: A Guide from Vironit.com

Companies like Vironit.com have the necessary means to naturally lure in potential customers for their services thanks to their expertise and portfolio. But what happens when an independent developer is looking to make money off of what they know to do best: create software? While it’s trickier than when you have the full backing support of a company, it’s not impossible. This article will stand proof of that fact as we explore the various things that independent developers are able to do in order to thrive in a hostile and highly competitive market.

Don’t get into app wars with big names

The software market usually sees a lot of apps that do the same thing, with just a small amount of variation. In this type of scenario, the winner is almost always the developer with the biggest name. Since all apps look and feel approximately the same, users will trust the brand since it can’t trust the product quality through other means. This is why, as an independent developer, you don’t want to pursue app ideas that have already been done. Stay away from generic apps that aren’t innovative in any way. In order to succeed, independent developers need focus more than anyone in finding new exciting app ideas, or new and original ways to solve a problem.

Look for hosting opportunities

When working independently, it’s very important to affiliate with those that already have an established presence on the scene. To make sure that an app gets enough attention it can be a very good move to have it hosted on a popular platform. This is of course not referring to the ones you would have applied for either way, like the Play Store for mobile apps, for example. Other hosting platforms like popular websites and blogs can bring forth a huge following that is susceptible to downloading the software. The popularity of the website will also act as a good word put towards your software, which will count more than the actual hosting in some cases.

Try to move away from upfront fees

People will pretty much throw their money at whatever vaguely interests them but they will not throw it at people or services they aren’t familiar with and don’t trust. Earning the trust of a growing community can be a really difficult task and this means that setting an upfront fee for an app might doom it since no one really wants to risk it and buy something they’re not absolutely sure will be worth their dime. In this sense, independent developers can opt for other solutions like establishing an internal revenue stream for the app through in-app purchases and multiple app versions (normal, premium, deluxe, etc.) while still keeping the base app free. This will allow interested consumers to download and try the app and then be much more likely to spend money on it once they’ve seen how it can help them.

This is really %100 true and motivating. I was just broke from my failures. Every time I try, I just fail 🙁 But now it’s the time to make a successful strategy and conquer.
    Thanks.
