A smaller version of HTC One handset dubbed HTC One Mini could be released in August.
HTC is yet to officially unveil the handset or spec sheet yet but rumors suggest HTC Mini to boast a 1280x720p HD display, a 1.4GHz Krait 300 dual-core processor supported by 1GB of RAM. It is rumored to run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean which would officially be toppled with HTC’s Sense user interface.
Like HTC One, the Mini will come with a 4-UltraPixel rear camera, whereas there has been no word on the front camera. BoomSound stereo speakers which supported the audio section in HTC One will continue to make an appearance in One Mini as well. These stereo speakers from Beats Audio will certainly attract music lovers.
Talking about memory this phone may have a 16GB internal memory variant only with no option to further expand it. Launching a single memory variant without an external expansion option, might not please the customers who like to carry heavy multimedia files and large applications. From connectivity point of view this phone will host most of the options including 3G, Wi Fi, EDGE, GPRS, Bluetooth, NFC, LTE and micro USB (v2.0).
HTC One Mini might be backed up with a Li-Ion 1800 mAH battery to provide long term usage and uninterrupted performance. This smartphone may appear in only Black and White color option, eliminating the Red color variant that was present in its elder sibling HTC One. Since it is a miniature version of HTC One it may lack some of it’s exclusive features like BlinkFeed service.
For the time being, HTC did not reveal any details regarding the smartphone’s pricing options, but given the fact that One Mini is mid-speced, it shouldn’t cost too much. Precise pricing of this phone will be very vital for its sales. Customers who were not able to lay their hands on the HTC One considering the price factor will certainly have their eyes on HTC One Mini launch.
For the full official announcement you’ll just have to wait and see!
