Get Out There and Market Your Business

As much as we’d love to tell you that there’s an app that will market your business for you, it just hasn’t happened yet. Not now, maybe not ever. Marketing is an intricate art that by the time you mastered it, you’ll find that things have changed yet again. It’s a crucial process for any business of any size. Here are some tips that will help you convince customers who can bring you sales, profits, and staying power:

  • Set up voicemail. Although voicemail seems to be outdated, it still is a safe way to ensure that you can greet your clients with style. It doesn’t have to be a hassle. RingCentral, for instance, eliminates the need for voicemail numbers, and instead lets users retrieve messages through an inbox accessible via the Internet. Have professional voicemail greetings, and change it to include crucial information like your name, as the owner of the voicemail, and the approximate time when you can get back to them.
  • Back to basics. Don’t be a traditional marketing snob. Just because the Internet is huge these days it does not mean that the older forms of marketing don’thave weight anymore. Business cards, posters, flyers and even ads on the local radio station can be highly effective in promoting your business. And when your target market is the TV surfers instead of the Internet surfers, you need to ensure that you have the traditional methods in place.
  • Prettify it. Physical beauty is a big deal when it comes to marketing. Your poster may include all the necessary information that your clientele might want to know, but if it looks ugly, it will not be as effective as you want it to be. Come up with an excellent looking logo and a unified visual style reflected in all your marketing materials. Some entrepreneurs forego this step because they think that it’s a waste of money. But if you see the value of a good-looking logo on a good-looking website and a good-looking packaging, the price you’ll pay for it will be more than worth it. Check out dribbble.com for design inspirations for different materials.
  • Focus on the few valuable clients. You should know who will most likely buy your product or avail of your service. Based on their common traits, create a marketing strategy that will not only attract them into paying, but one that will turn them into raving fans. As Seth Godin puts it, you need to build a tribe that will stay close to you and follow you all throughout your business.
  • Analyze your marketing activities and results closely. Intelligence pays off a lot, especially when it comes to marketing. A clearly defined rationale that targets a super specific goal for example, with informative keywords such as HP webcam from Argos, will ensure that your marketing moves are not for naught. Hire an expert so that you don’t waste the time of your team and the money that you are investing. Hit the mark early on.

Oh, I really wish that such an app existed. Just joking! This is valuable advice, especially focusing on a few valuable clients. They are the backbone of your business, they are your supporters and you should treat them as good as you could.

Some excellent advice mentioned here. Although I understand the value of traditional marketing, compared to the cost and effectiveness I think you should refrain from using them as much as possible.

The best business strategies should always have the right balance between modern and traditional methods. You’re right that although we are on the “internet age”, we should still value the traditional marketing methods that have also proven to work for many entrepreneurs.

Traditional marketing methods should still be incorporated in any marketing campaign because this way, you will still have the ability to reach out to those who are never online. To put it simply, to gain the recognition that you want for your business, you must be out there! Thanks for the share.
