The Future of Charging Tech and the Best Products to use for Charging

Charging our portable devices is something that many of us do every day. Knowing what the best charging technologies there are out there is the best way to have a great charging experience.

One of the main electronics that we each day are charging electronics, as many of us own portable devices such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops too. The things with most newer devices is that they’re starting to have larger batteries and that is really good at first, as you’re able to use your devices for a longer duration of time. At the same time, a larger battery means that it’s going to take longer to recharge. Or is it?

Many people want new battery tech, other than Lithium-ion, that said, we’re kind of a long way off and that’s because of the testing that has to be done to make sure the batteries are safe to use in many different environments and also that they can be safe for long-term use. However, one thing that has been focused on quite a lot is the charging tech that we use with our devices and the charging electronic products that we use too.

In this article, I’m going to first go over the most useful charging electronics that you can use to charge your devices. Another major subject I’m going to touch on is the charging tech that is available with a wide range of devices today and how the charging technology is spreading to many devices.

USB Wall Chargers

Wall chargers are the most used type of charging electronics as they’re the ones that come with our newly purchased smartphones and tablets. Most of the time when it comes to the wall charger that comes with your smartphone is that they have just a single port on them, and that can be quite limiting when you want to charge many devices at once. As a result, we’ve gotten to the point where we’ve basically perfected wall chargers.

For example, the brand Anker is quite a well-known brand that sells charging electronics and they have regular wall chargers that have no Quick Charge and they also have their PowerPort+ line wall chargers that use Quick Charge. There’s a PowerPort 4 and there’s also a PowerPort+ 4 wall charger that has one of its ports using Quick Charge.

The same thing can be said about changing stations too. Charging stations are basically just like wall chargers but they have a lot more charging ports. Aukey is another popular brand on the market that makes use of a 6-port charging station that actually uses two Quick Charge ports. Something like that is not common on the market, having it can be very useful for charging two Quick Charge compatible devices at once.

Portable Chargers

Even though wall chargers are a very useful charging electronics if there’s one product that has grown exponentially over the last few years it would have to be the portable charger. That obvious reason for that is because you’re able to charge your smartphone and other devices while you’re on the move. No longer do you have to be tied down to a wall charger. The best power banks are the ones that have variety to them.

They come in all sorts of different power capacities for different uses, colors, and sizes to fit your needs. Another great attribute of portable chargers is the tech that’s implemented with them. It’s basically just like wall chargers and that’s a very good thing. As there are power banks that use Quick Charge and also ones that use Power Delivery which can be helpful for those that own Power Delivery smartphones and laptops as you don’t have to rely on a USB-C wall charger for charging your laptop and can charge your laptop wherever you sit.

Car Chargers

Car chargers are one other charging electronic that can be used that not many people find to be useful. We use our smartphones throughout the day quite a lot, at the same time we drive a lot too. As a result, charging our device smartphones while we’re driving is the best course of action as we’re not using them and by the time we reach out destination we have a charged up device.

Another part that makes car charger useful is when we’re using navigation apps, and the reason for that is because they require a lot of power and that can result in a lot of drainage of battery and possibly have your phone turn off while you’re in a place that you’re not familiar with. A car charger can supply a constant power source and avoid having your smartphone die on you.

Quick Charge

Two of the most used fast charging technologies on the market are Quick Charge and Power Delivery. Quick Charge is the first one that I want to mention and that’s because it’s the most well-known one as it’s used with lots Android smartphones on the market. The reason for that is because Quick Charge is owned by the company Qualcomm which responsible for creating the processors that are used with a lot of Android smartphones.

All you need is a Quick Charge charging electronic and a compatible device and you’re able to charge your device at its max charging speed. Quick Change is useful because it increases Voltage and that in turn makes the charging speed that your device is charging at to be at the same speed.

USB-C Power Delivery

The one other fast-growing charging tech is known as USB-C Power Delivery. Power Delivery is used with USB-C because it’s a more powerful method of charging and USB-C is being used with all newer smartphones and if a new Android phone is using Micro-USB, then it’s quite outdated. The best part about USB-C Power Delivery is that it’s the universal type of charging tech.

The reason for that is because Quick Charge is owned by Qualcomm and so brand would have to pay to use the tech. Power Delivery, on the other hand, is more universal and can be used with nearly all portable devices. MacBook is now using USB-C Power Delivery and so are Chromebooks too, and that means you can carry around a small USB-C wall charger instead of a large power brick adapter laptop charger.

Another great thing about Power Delivery is that smaller devices such as smartphones are now using it, such as the iPhone X and the iPhone 8. To use Power Delivery with those smartphones, you have to use a USB-C to Lighting charging cable, and then you can charge your iPhone at its max charging speed.
