What to Expect from WSOP Europe

As we speak the biggest names in poker are setting out for the Czech Republic, to make history at the first ever WSOP Europe. Hosted at Rozvadov’s King’s Casino, the event is set to be the biggest, richest, poker tournament that Europe has ever seen. Today we’re looking at the schedule and running you through what you can expect from this four-week poker extravaganza!

WSOPE 2017 kicks off on October 19th and runs non-stop until November 10th. The stakes are high – there are 11 official WSOP gold bracelet events taking place over the course of the competition and there’s a whopping €18 million prize pool up for grabs! You can view the gold bracelet schedule and structure for WSOPE 2017 here.

Back in September the WSOP Circuit ended in Rozvadov. This means that some of Europe and the world’s biggest players are already in town with their heads in the game, gearing up to take home the big bucks.

You might be wondering, why Rosvadov? Well, its located right in the heart of Europe on the German border, in between Munich and Prague. The casino is easy to reach for players across the continent, and because of this, in recent years King’s Casino has become a second home for international poker players and the sport’s rising stars.

The competition opens with a €1,100 Monster Stack No-Limit Hold’Em on the 19th October. The first week starts off relatively calmly, with players having the option of No-Limit Hold’em for buy in’s of €1,100 and €1,650, and Pot Limit Omaha for  €550 and €2,200.

Expect things to really heat up as we roll into November. On the 2nd players can sign up for Event #9 – a €25,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller. The following day, the bar gets raised even higher on Day One of the €111,111 High Roller for One Drip, which lasts for three days. The Main Event kicks off on Monday November 6th and reaches its climax five days later on November 10th.

What’s very clear is that WSOPE 2017 is starting things strong. This may be the very first competition of its kind held in Europe by the WSOP giants, but that doesn’t look to be slowing it down. The stakes are high, the talent is ready and the world is watching. The whole event will be live streamed and filmed for TV. We’ll definitely be tuning in!
