Content Management System: Your Key to Successful Web Designing and Maintenance

Web designing is the first step towards creating an online presence for your business. However, more often than never, even a well designed website loses contact with its customers, to-be-customers, clients etc., due to lack of maintenance. This article discusses how CMS helps and how to choose your provider wisely.

Next to PHP stands CMS or Content management System, as Internet’s most powerful web developer tool. Gone are the days when you are 100% dependent on a technical guy to keep your website alive and kicking. What do we mean by alive? A website is not just a platform to glean information about a company’s product’s / services. It is a two-way communication system where customers are kept posted about regular updates made to the website in terms of new products or services, seasonal offers and discounts etc. These updates need to reach existing as well as prospective customers at the right time in the right manner to enable increased sales and customer base.

This means, content like news, blogs, announcements, articles, product or image galleries have to be continuously updated on the website. Good news is, you do not have to hire a techie to do this job for you. What you need, in the first place, is a CMS website. When you hire web development services from a professional make sure to develop a CMS website. With a CMS website you can control all changes and updates to your website on your own, with little technical assistance. In other words, a CMS website lets you manage your website content with an intuitive and easy-to-operate control panel. One does not require any technical knowledge or programming skills for the same. There are a number of web development services providers that can help develop a CMS website for you. However, there are certain important traits that you should look for in a CMS.

  • Quick and effortless installation
  • Simple template manipulation
  • Quick and simple extension of CMS
  • Helpful user community
  • Simple administration interface

Web designing India using CMS is very popular especially for those businesses that strive solely due to their online presence. By developing a CMS website, your web development services provider is actually providing you a simple-to-use system with which you can add or delete images and edit text on the move. You can also have unlimited number of pages with a full site-search engine. The most commonly used CMS by web designing India as part of web development services are Drupal, WordPress, Radiant CMS, Magento and Silver stripe. Also note that if your web development services provider is using Joomla, you should re-consider using his service as this CMS is not only less efficient but very costly too. So, the best way to ensure that you have hired a reliable web designing India service provider is to check the above-mentioned qualities of a good CMS.

It is very true that a website needs to be up and living. People tend to be more involved in one’s site when they see that in every bit, the site is being checked and maintained well. Having a CMS for the site helps the site give a fresh look always; whether that be in the blog, or the products list, or the announcements, it gives the customers an assurance that the company shows organization. Hence, in effect, leads the customers to be persuade in a way that they will dig into the site and might actually buy the produce of the company. A little maintenance would not hurt. It would actually lead to one’s benefit. 🙂

I like Joomla CMS, especially its latest 2.5 version. But there is nothing better for blogging than WordPress.

CMS is beneficial as its modules or various components allow everyone who has the access of an administrator to contribute information to a website. CMS is a boon especially for news and information websites where the companies’ own employees have to handle the entire backend or the administrative panel.

Most of the clients forget about this and think that their website is only for one-way communication. Some also think that it won’t’t need changes and improvements over the time.
My favorite cms system is WP and I also like shopify but it’s very expensive!
