Best Anti Virus Software Programs for Windows 8

No doubt we were all relieved when Windows 7 came out and although not being so popular, Windows 8 was a good upgrade.  Whether you have come to love Windows 8 or are among the ‘haters’, there is one thing you have to love about the version-it’s security feature: Windows defender.  The question is: will this built-in antivirus be all you’ll ever need?  After multiple tests done by software labs, Windows 8’s antivirus isn’t still as good as the leading antivirus programs around.

This being said, it would still be safe and wise to install a third party antivirus for your Windows 8.  Here are some tips to find the best Anti Virus software for you.

Check Performance

AV-Test is an independent IT security institute that conducts antivirus tests to evaluate performance. Factors such as how well they detect and block malware and deal with existing viruses are taken into consideration. Before choosing an antivirus software for your Windows 8, find out how well the program performed on the AV-test.

Check Software Features

It is always good to find an antivirus software program that comes with other perks as well. Things such as the ability to protect you from phishing or threats that come via instant messaging are some of the features to look out for. Try and get a software program that fits your needs as a user.
