The Nook is Barnes and Noble’s answer to the tablet industry and uses the Android market. It includes many features found on similar sized tablets and ranges in price from around $100 to $300, depending on the version that you choose. The earliest version, the Nook Simple Touch, is an ultra light eReader and does not have the features of a tablet. If you are looking for one with all the features of a tablet, you will want either the HD or HD+. The HD is 7″ with options from 8 GB to 16 in either white or black, while the HD + is 9″ and available in either 16GB or 32 GB, both in black.

Technical Features

Both the HD and HD+ offer screens with sharp, high definition resolution able to play up to 1080p. Whether you are watching a movie, playing a game, or reading, the image quality is amazing. You can choose either 7″ or 9″, depending on how large a screen you desire for your various needs. Both versions are very light, at just over 11 ounces. Furthermore, it has a very fast dual-core processor, providing you with the ability to play or work at rapid speeds. The sound quality on the Nook is excellent, with high quality dual speakers that provide cinema like sound.

Apps

Both versions of the Nook tablet come with the ability to download over 700,000 Android apps, including popular apps like Facebook Twitter, Pinterest, Temple Run, and more, They also include Google Play, which has millions of apps, games, movies, songs and more. You can store your favorite TV shows and games, and even increase the memory through adding a microSD card. All Nook purchases are stored for free in the cloud, so you can have access to them from anywhere. Many popular entertainment apps, like Netflix and Hulu are available, and even have their own versions made exclusively for the Nook. Over 3 million books and magazines are available for purchase and download to your tablet, making it easy to remain up to date on everything. Never heard of this company James. By the way what is its expected price? Is it going to compete with Nexus 7.
