There is a lot more to excite you this summer than the idea of warm weather and baring those arms – a whole heap of fresh new titles have been released or are due to, which means the six-week hols and beyond are about to get pretty intense. Thanks to a boom in the video gaming industry, a 7% jump in revenue from 2014 to 2015 to be exact, the need for more titles out in quicker succession has hit creators hard. Gamers want more, and they want it now.
In spite of the fact that more players are doing so through their phones, there are plenty of apps and games abound that will satisfy a wide range of people.
MMO – The Popularity of Multiplayer
There are quite a few reasons as to why multiplayer online games have become so in demand.
- Can play with other people rather than automated computer systems.
- It gives a level of anonymity.
- Better campaigns and missions.
- A more social experience.
To celebrate all that is multiplayer, here are two titles you’ll want to try out over the summer.
Destiny
It has been out way before now, but the frequent updates and brand new upcoming DLC is making it a hot game to play this summer and in truth all year round. You can play with others whenever you want, even when completing the main story.
No Man’s Sky
Released in June, this is probably one of the lesser known multiplayer because it’s all about exploration and survival rather than big guns and carnage. This game is free roaming and allows gamers to do whatever they want, a truly uncontrolled experience you can enjoy with friends near and far.
Single Player Campaigns
These titles aren’t quite dead yet.
- More immersive
- Choose your own terms of play
- Brings meaning to gaming
So here are two titles that do just that, both of which are different in their own ways and offer something new.
Coral Casino
The type of games available here can be seen as reaching out to the working classes – there is no need for a large lump sum of money up front, nor do you need fancy technology. It is a pure entertainment form that allows you to play for money and explore an array of genres and themes.
Wolf Among Us
Again, this is another title that isn’t new but if you’re in need of a tense, thought-provoking, and challenging single player this summer, this is your game. You experience fairy tale characters in a modern day environment as a plague of horrors haunts them; it’s a Telltale Games classic in the making.
Misc – A Bit of Everything
Sometimes, there is no need for a set format or genre in a game for it to be fun, so here is our last game of this list, something a little different for you.
The Room 3
This is purely a puzzle game, set to tease your mind into thinking out the most complex of sequences. What makes it so great is that there is a reason behind all your tinkering: to find out the secrets of the Craftsmen!
