UPDATE – Final Decision on XXX (.xxx) Internet Domain Delayed

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), has deferred its decision on whether to give adult Web sites their own Internet domain until June 2010. The agency “initiated a 70-day process of consultations on the “.xxx” domain widely seen by some experts as the beginning of steps to assist parent block access of children to pornographic Web sites. At its meeting on Friday, ICANN’s board gave its Chief Executive and Chief Lawyer 14 days to recommend proposals for the agency to proceed before the commencement of a 45-day public debate preceding a final decision at Brussels in June.
