Although all Joomla sites have at least one menu module, it is quite easy to ignore the fact that the Main Menu is also a module particularly if you installed Joomla with the sample data that comes along with it. After creating a Menu and the relevant Menu Items, many Joomla newbies find it difficult to find the newly created menu. Exactly the same thing happened to a friend hence this short post/article. Please take note of the following: because the Main Menu is a module, it is necessary to remember that every single menu you create will also be accompanied by a menu module. The newly created menu should therefore be treated in the same way as other existing menus.
Once a menu module is created, it still needs to be to be activated and placed in a relevant module position so as to become active and visible on the Website. Therefore, to activate a newly created menu module, you simply need to select Extensions and then the Module Manager from the drop-down menu, in the back-end of your Joomla installation. Then find the menu module among the presented list of modules and enable it with the radio button (usually on the right). You should now select a position to display the module from the drop-down list of available Positions. This should make the newly created menu module visible from the front-end of your Joomla installation.
