Apple Delays iPad Release

Apple has announced that the much anticipated sale of Apple iPad, by technology gadget enthusiasts, will be slightly delayed until April 3 in the United States and “late April” in the United Kingdom. Although no specific reason was given for the delay, analysts suggest it might be due to an “unspecified production problem”. First to be released will be the Wi-Fi models, while other ones with Wi-Fi and 3G networks will be released later in April.

The iPadis a tablet-style computer that is designed to be as an intermediary between laptops and smartphones. It is half-inch thick, has a 10-inch screen, and runs existing applications from the Apple apps store. The hi-tech gadget will be available in 16-gigabyte (from $499), 32-gigabyte (from $599) and 64-gigabyte (from $699) versions. In addition, it will include 12 new applications designed specifically for the computer and will run most of the over 140,000 iPod and iPhone apps.

The device and corresponding prices will be released in late April in the following countries; Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain and Switzerland. It is yet to be seen whether the delay will affect projected sales of the device.
