Although the problem did not affect the newer slim models, many PS3 owners chose to heed Sony’s advice to stop using their games console until the problem, which reminds one of the millenium bug, was resolved.
A statement released by Sony PlayStation 3 on 02 March 2010 confirms that normal network service has been restored for all PS3 users. However, “if the time displayed on the XMB (XrossMediaBar) is still incorrect, users can go to Settings to adjust time settings manually or via the Internet”.
