According to Global Equities Research, around 60% of buyers are existing iPad owners, while 40% are first-time buyers. As buyers around the world, i.e. 26 countries including Mexico, New Zealand, United Kingdom and several European countries, wait for sales in their respective countries to begin on March 25, it remains to be seen whether the overall sale of the iPad 2 will exceed that of the original iPad which sold over 15 million in its first nine months, including 7.3 million to Christmas shoppers in the last quarter of 2010.
