If 2010 was the year of the 3D movie, 2011 just might be the year for watching 3D movies without those pesky glasses. There are a number of televisions out that can be watched without 3D glasses, and now, phone companies are releasing glasses-free 3D smartphones en masse. Here are a few of the best newly released phones (in no particular order) that enable users to watch movies and television shows in 3D without wearing glasses.
T-Mobile G2x
Once again, T-Mobile is pushing the envelope by releasing the first ever 3D Android smartphone. The big concern, of course, with any videophone, and especially one that uses 3D, is that the phone will be slow. But this is not the case with the G2x, thanks to the dual core processor. This phone is perfect for the hardcore procrastinator, as it includes 3D gaming, on-demand TV, YouTube, an 8 megapixel camera, good smartphone batteries, FM Radio and much more. And with easy access to Microsoft Outlook and the ability to hold conference calls, the T-Mobile G2x is also great for doing business.
LG Thrill 4G
AT&T’s LG Thrill is the American version of the LG Optimus 3D, another great phone that allows customers to play games and watch television without the use of 3D glasses. The phone’s 4.3-inch screen is a bit grainier than other 3D smartphone models, but the advantage of this is that the LG Thrill runs a lot faster than the other 3D phones. In addition to 3D videos and games, the LG Thrill has a 3D interface that allows users to immerse themselves in the world of 3D while choosing what to do next. Another cool feature of the LG Thrill is HDMI mirroring, which means that just by plugging in a cable, you can play anything on a television screen while it is playing on the phone’s screen.
HTC EVO 3D
Not only does the HTC EVO run in 3D, it can even record movies in 3D! This Smartphone has two rear-facing 5 megapixel cameras, one of which is intended for 3D recording. The HTC EVO 3D runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread and is made to run fast by its 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon CPU. Thanks to the Snapdragon CPU, the HTC EVO lacks the slight lag that is often seen in Android phones. With a 4.3 inch screen, the size of the EVO is convenient as well, for it has a long enough screen to provide for easy viewing, but is thin enough to store easily. And the 960×540 pixel resolution makes for amazing video quality, especially when combined with the 3D capabilities!
