New Samsung Tablet Line-Up Rumored to Hit U.S. by Years End

Samsung has recently reported a growth in tablet sales for the last quarter as consumers seem optimistic that a “refreshed” Galaxy Tab E-Series will appear in the U.S. Multiple sources are alluding to the fact that the U.S. could see this brand new series of Samsung Galaxy Tablets in the not so distant future. These rumors come after the popularity of the release of the Samsung 9.6” Galaxy Tab E in the U.S. last June, and the Samsung Tab E 8.0 8” versions release in Taiwan earlier this year.

According to SlashGear, news by way of the United Office website ( a U.S. Retailer), states that the lineup might look something like this, with the: E 8.0, E Lite, E Lite Kids, and the unannounced E 7.0.; And that the 7” version yet to be seen might have a lot of the same specs as the 8” version released in Taiwan this past January.

While few actual specifications have been released on any of these pending models, the curtain may have been pulled on some of the specs to be seen on the widely rumored Galaxy Tab E 7.0.  One source, Phone Review, lists some of these specs as :

  • 1.5 GB of RAM
  • 8 GB of internal storage (with possibility for additional via memory cards)
  • Resolution of 1280 x 800, on a 7” screen (this is the same resolution as the 9.6” version)
  • 1.3 GHZ processor

Other sources have confirmed several of these specs, even adding that the device will support 4G connectivity; and Christian Post, via the Samsung Mexico website, states that the dimensions of the new device will be 193.4mm x 116.4mm x 9.7mm. This source also mentions that there has been no word out on the battery for the device, but chances are it won’t be a non-removable battery.  However; another source thinks a 5,000 mAh battery will be inside, good for 13 hours of video or web browsing.

Speculations on other models in the lineup include a heavy-duty case for the kid’s version, as well as similar hardware and processing as the 9.6” tablet, which has a 1.3 GHZ quad-core processor. Even the camera is rumored to be quite similar the 9.6” version that has a 2 megapixel front-facing camera and a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera.

No news on a specific release date but sources suspect it will hit U.S. Markets by the end of 2016 or early in 2017. While this series is said to be on the lower end of Samsung’s tablet offerings, it’s one series that looks to be updated, with lots of new features to be desired.
