Technological advancement seems to know no bounds particularly since the advent of computers. For many years, many have wondered what it would be like if they could read the minds of other people. Just imagine a kind of x-ray gadget that reads people’s thoughts and predicts their next course of action pretty accurately. Well, it appears that sooner or later you will no longer have to wonder or wish you knew what the next person to you was thinking anymore thanks to Intel Corp.
Computer programs that reveal what people are thinking about has been displayed by Intel Corp in New York according to Yahoo. The technology uses ‘functional MRI scans’ to assess and reveal what parts of an individual’s brain is activated as they think about various items and the results so far have been quite positive and encouraging.
Quite remarkably the software guessed correctly which of two words a person was thinking about with 90% accuracy. Analysts say that the technology would eventually become very useful to severely disabled individuals who find it difficult to communicate. However, there is bound to be many more advantages of having such technology available from law enforcement to going out on a date (lol). Still in its early stages of development, the technology is unable to analyze abstract thoughts just yet.
Talking Point
Do you agree with those who suggest that mind-reading computers, if successful, would take business away from psychics and fortune tellers? What other effects do you think such technology would have on the society at large?
that is really a great advancement in the science and technology. i have read somewhere that Japanese has use the real brain inside a robot and robot can now think and performing more efficient on the Artificial Intelligence.

I’m going to agree with the commentor who said
Yeah it’s a real technological advancement.I’ve read an article saying that this type of technology can help search engines give even better results because it can finally answer the “what do you mean?” question.
On a side note, the technology can be a bit frightening, too, or maybe I’m just watching too many sci-fi movies.
Wow, integrating mind-reading technology into search engines. I can’t wait!
This article is very advance. I’m so fancy about the ‘functional MRI scans’ which use to reveal some parts of the human brain. This is very interesting article.
I think some technology like this has been in US, by CIA, CTU and other high security organisation in Government.
This computer works on neural networks knowledge. This computer constructs its mnemonics and delivers information.
Is it one display of artificial intelligence in IT?
You could probably say so.
Wow! How do they come up with these things? Well, it’s really kind of expected. But it’s beginning to be really scary what could these super smart people can come up with 20 years from now. If this particular invention is going to be successful, I think it can be used in people who testify in court. But again, it’s scary as these things alone can decide the outcome of the case. Next thing we know, our lives are being run all by computer already.
