Opened in January 2019, Fingal, the sister ship to The Royal Yacht Britannia, has recently opened its doors to the public. This luxury floating hotel is permanently berthed on Edinburgh’s vibrant waterfront. Offering a unique experience to guests, this thrilling addition is one of Scotland’s most spectacular boutique hotels. It was once known as a lighthouse tender, transporting equipment and supplies to some of the most treacherous locations in Scotland. Today, the site has been transformed into a luxurious retreat with 23 beautiful cabins. End the day with a relaxing visit to the ship’s Lighthouse Bar, where you can experience exceptional services from afternoon tea to an evening supper. St Andrews Club – St Andrew Square, Edinburgh

Owners of the world-famous, five-star luxury hotel, Gleneagles will be welcomed into the City of Edinburgh for the opening of another addition to their high-end hospitality collection. Ennismore, a London based owner and developer of unique properties, have recently taken ownership over the former Bank of Scotland. Plans have commenced transforming the premises at St Andrews Square, into Gleneagles next adventure following the bank’s closure in 2016. The vision for this new hotel will provide guests with a mix of seasonal Scottish cuisine, exceptional dining experiences and bars stocked with the very best of Scotland’s whiskey. A full-width roof extension will hold an outside terrace that offers views over the majestic St Andrew Square.

Ness Walk – River Ness, Inverness

Set to open in the summer of 2019, Ness Walk will be the sister hotel to the Kingsmill Hotel in Inverness. Situated right on the River Ness, this stunning five-star luxury hotel will be located next to Dundas House, right at the heart of Inverness City. The hotel will offer guests access to 48 outstanding rooms with lavish interiors. Each room will feature free WiFi, flat-screen televisions and 24-hour room service. The hotel will provide an excellent restaurant, bar and lounge areas along with breath-taking views across the River Ness.

The Fife Arms – Braemar

Reopened in 2018 by Prince Charles, following a tremendous transformation, The Fife Arms is a 19th-century building and is a Braemar landmark. This established building displays many traditional architectural features and is located in the historic village of Braemar. Surrounded by breath-taking landscapes and views over the Cairngorms National Park, the hotel has the feeling of a private country house with a luxurious atmosphere designed to make guests feel relaxed and at home. The hotel showcases some of the finest Scottish seasonal cuisine where you can experience fine dining and exceptional staff service. The hotel’s art gallery owners boast 12,000 pieces of art and antiques, along with beautiful gardens by a royal-approved designer. Market Street Hotel – Edinburgh

The new supreme Market Street Hotel is conveniently located around Edinburgh’s New and Old Towns. Set to open in May of 2019, this modernised location has been described as a slice of urban luxury. Inspired by the iconic location in which it resides, the hotel’s architects have succeeded in creating a bold, unique design that sets itself from its competitors. With stunning views over the city, the Nor’ Loft sweeps across the top floor of the hotel and provides guests with spectacular flavours and vibrant styles. The combination of great interiors with a contemporary twist makes this hotel a perfect place for guests to stay and connect with the urban edge and rich heritage of the city.

Crichton Hall – Dumfries

Plans have already begun to transform the magnificent Crichton Hall into a spectacular five-star, luxury hotel and spa. The current owners of the luxurious Fonab Castle Hotel, in Pitlochry, are planning to develop the majestic Crichton Hall and surrounding grounds to create another fantastic opportunity of prestigious accommodation. Initially opened in Dumfries in 1839, The Crichton Hall stood as a mental health facility but in recent years has been used as the board’s administrative headquarters. Plans for the refurbishment of the building are set to commence soon across the vast 12-acre location. Although it is set to become a five-star luxury accommodation, the new owners have pledged to protect and preserve many of the property’s original features.

    Scotland is at the top of my bucket list! My husband and I are saving right now so that we can celebrate our 5th Anniversary in Scotland!
