1. Federation Square

2. Royal Botanic Gardens

Established in 1846, the Royal Botanic Gardens are in the heart of green parkland. The gardens cover two locations: Melbourne and Cranbourne. The Melbourne area covers around 38 hectares with over 8,000 unique plants. If you are visiting during the summer, you will enjoy a live theater under the stars. The gardens have a popular picnic site by the lake, or you can visit The Terrace Café for a traditional high tea. You do not have to pay anything to visit the gardens.

3. The National Sports Museum

Being the sporting capital of Australia, the National Sports Museum is a top tourist attraction. The Museum dates back to 1853 and has a capacity of 100,000. 6. Eureka Tower

The tower has 91 stories above the heart of Southbank. The gold crown and gold-plated windows add to its glamour when the sun shines on the top of the skyscraper. The 88th floor has the Skydeck, which is the highest public view in any building in the Southern Hemisphere. You can also experience The Edge, which is a glass cube that slides out three meters from the building.

7. Arcades and Laneways

The lanes and alleyways around the Bourke, Flinders, and Collins streets reveal the elegant, and interesting Melbourne. The sleekest arcade is the Block Arcade in Collins Street. The jewel has a mosaic floor, period detail, and specialty shops. You will want to take a morning cup of tea at the Hopetoun Tearooms, which dates back to 1892 and the only original shop in existence in the arcade.

8. The City Circle Tram Tour

Melbourne’s public transport system uses trams. The City Circle Tram provides free trips to tourists for a leisurely sightseeing tour. The tram has a commentary and passes the many grand historic buildings such as the Old Treasury Building and the Princes Theatre.

9. The Zoo

The Melbourne Zoo dates back to 1862 and is home to over 320 animal species. The animals are protected using modern enclosure facilities. 10. Shrine of Remembrance
