2.      Adjust Screen Brightness

Keep the screen brightness low. Auto-brightness is convenient, but often you can push the brightness a bit lower and still actually see what’s on your display. On some smartphones, you can toggle auto-brightness from the notification shade, while others require a trip to the settings menu.

3.      Turn Off GPS, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and LTE

While you manage your cell data usage, you can also cut out all of your wireless radios and receivers. These are switched on as a convenience. These still draw power when you are not using them, so brush them off.

4.      Trim Apps Running in the Background

Apps running in the background, especially on Android devices can consume a lot of battery. By quitting non-essential apps, you can save a lot of battery life.

5.      Remove Home Screen Widgets and Live Wallpaper

Swap a fancy wallpaper for basic black. You definitely have a beautiful live wallpaper, but what benefit does an animated wallpaper provide you, if It only leads to a shorter battery life. Switching to a static wallpaper should take a little power pressure off of your phone and if your handset uses an AMOLED display, switching to a dark theme or at least using a black wallpaper should help reduce the amount of power draw from lighting up unnecessary pixels. This simple change can improve your battery life by 20%-30%.

6.      Switch Off Wi-Fi and Data Connection in Poor Network Areas

In areas that have poor network and a low Wi-Fi range signal, your phone antennauses more power to connect better. This drains your battery rapidly and results in phone heating issues. In situations where poor signals prolong, best is to keep your Wi-Fi and data connection switched off until signals improve.

7.      Make Sure Real-World Talk Time is Sufficient

A lot of us depend on long conference calls and sufficient battery life is crucial while you’re at it. It can be really frustrating when a phone that’s fully charged takes a big drop in battery life while you’re on a call. Don’t always go by what the manufacturers say, check for real-world talk time before you get on a call.

8.      Reset Battery Life Cycle

Resetting the battery life cycle can also improve your battery life considerably. To do this, fully charge your smartphone, then fully drain it out and once the phone has died, leave it switched off for at least 6-12 hours. Then fully charge it once again and leave it on charge for 2 more hours. This resets the way the phone communicates with the battery, thus improving the battery life.
