Want to Design a Unique Greeting Card Online? Here are a Few Options

Greeting cards have for long been one of the most cherished media of conveying one’s best wishes on festive occasions. But with the dawn of the digital age, the industry has seen a decline. Greeting card giants like American Greetings and Hallmark have seen their business shrink to half their market size as compared to the previous decade and have seen massive corporate restructuring to counter that.

But of late there has been a quiet resurgence in the market. Lovepop, an American startup that makes custom handmade greeting cards recently raised $12.5 million in Series A funding round led by Highland Capital Partners, on January 3rd 2018.

The company which started in 2015 has seen explosive growth over the past couple of years. Clearly, the market has enough steam left in it. Greeting cards are still special, people value the effort one takes to pick a card, pen a beautiful message and post it. The tangibility is one feature that digital greeting still lacks in. Moreover, with the increased accessibility of web to print, there are now more than several ways to deliver greetings to your loved ones

Print Artist Platinum

If you seek to create cards from scratch or just tweak a preexisting template, Print Artist Platinum provides you with both options. The tools are expansive in offering you the level of customization. You can enhance your design or even add effects. From removing blemishes in a photo to managing the color gradient or even using the paintbrush tool to create something entirely new, their custom greeting card design tool allows you plenty room to flex your creativity. There are few cons to point out too, like for instance, some popular occasions don’t have preset text messages to be readily integrated and also some of the icons aren’t labeled in the design software so they take a while to get used to. You can choose to share your designs on social media like YouTube, Facebook or just email directly in addition to getting them printed physically. They even offer live customer support through chat or phone call and even have their own tutorials page and FAQs for a better user experience

Canva

Canva is one of the more established brands on the web to print business. Their greeting card design tool is one of the more user-friendly ones. For a monthly fee, you get access to 50,000 premade templates and a huge library of 300,000 images. The diversity of templates covers every occasion and even includes options for creating business cards, invitations, presentations, etc. Their repertoire is varied, though they are not without their drawbacks. One of the biggest issues is, despite paying a monthly fee you still have to pay to access certain content, which is hard to miss while you browse their catalogue.

The editing tools are very simplistic, which does make using it very convenient and quick but the tradeoffs such as red-eye reduction or photo repair do start to prick at times. These features are standard in other online greeting card design software. So, if you’re looking to do significant editing you will have to opt for a different design tool. They don’t have live customer support in the form of phone calls but the tutorials available on their website are remarkably helpful. Moreover sharing on social media is offered by them as well. Photo uploading is as simple as dragging and dropping, both from third party websites and your computer. Their template offerings are according to current trends which is another advantage.

Greetings Island

Greetings Island is another website that offers one of the most complete online greeting cards software. Extremely quick in designing printable cards, the user interface is also as streamlined as it gets.  The occasions for card designing include almost every imaginable one, like, birthdays, anniversary, House Warming, wedding, farewell, etc.

One of the biggest pluses of the website is the option of guest checkout. There is no need to sign up and create an entire account to design your favorite card. Just visit the website and start designing the cards right away. Also, it doesn’t skimp on social media features as well and allows the users to share their designs on Facebook and even email their friends a digital copy.
