Anyone who owns a blender can make a smoothie. If properly made, smoothies can turn into a potent concoction that will boost your health, nourish and energize your body and make you feel positive and satiated. To make a healing potion out of a simple smoothie, one should make clever choices when it comes to ingredients. Right selection and amount of blended ingredients will lift up your mood and make your body healthy and strong.
Pour into the blender one cup of almond milk and then add a cup of fresh or frozen blueberries and a cup of raspberries. If it is going to be a long day, boost this mixture with some true protein to make sure that you are full for the big part of the day. Mix one peeled navel orange and ¼ cup of fat-free yogurt. Add two tablespoons of orange juice concentrate and, ¼ vanilla extract and few ice cubes. As for juice concentrate and vanilla extract, look for organic products and try to avoid ones with sugar or other artificial ingredients. Combine and process until creamy and enjoy this low-calorie, yet full of vitamin C smoothie. Refreshing and healthy, this orange smoothie is perfect for cooling down on hot summer days. Navel oranges, known as winter oranges, are the best choice for any smoothie since they are seedless and easy to peel.
Combine one cup of coconut water, ½ cup of peeled papaya, and one cup of peeled mango. Add few large leaves of Romaine lettuce and two sprigs of fresh mint. If you like cold smoothies, add some crushed ice and blend it until it gets the soft and creamy texture. This healthy combination will fuel you with a lot of much-needed vitamin C, folates, fibers, potassium, copper, magnesium and pantothenic acid (known as vitamin B5). Aside from being tasty, papaya and mango, if regularly consumed, can seriously boost your immune system, improve your health and looks since it has proven effects on skin, eyes, brain tissue, metabolism, etc.

However, these recipes are not a substitute for a meal since you need to have a proper and balanced diet, where smoothies come as a great addition. Also, keep in mind that drinking fresh smoothie is the best way to absorb all the flavors and nutrients, but if you need to store it in the fridge for later, make sure to use glass containers, for not longer than two days.
